Deep Silver and Gaijin Entertainment have announced Escape Dead Island, a new survival mystery game coming to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC this fall for $39.99.
The game represents a “crucial bridge” between the events of Dead Island and the upcoming Dead Island 2, revealing the origins of the zombie virus and some clues as to where the events are going to lead.
Escape Dead Island is described as a “story-driven, single-player game” in which players become Cliff Calo, the spoiled son of a powerful media mogul who has stolen a yacht with his friends and is determined to film the documentary of the century in exposing the truth about the Banoi zombie outbreak.
Players will be able to freely explore the island, and Cliff will struggle with his own sanity as the world around him becomes increasingly unpredictable. Time will distort, strange messages will appear, and impossible events will occur, such as oceans turning to blood or containers plummeting from the sky.
Consumers who purchase the game at GameStop will receive guaranteed access to the Dead Island 2 beta next year. GameStop Rewards members will also be automatically entered into the July Epic Reward promotion, the winner of which will be flown to Berlin, Germany to get digitally scanned and placed in-game as a zombie character in Dead Island 2.
