Xbox boss teases E3 2014 plans, Japanese games
"May should be a good month for news," Spencer teases.Xbox boss Phil Spencer took to Twitter last night to tease Microsoft’s plans for its E3 press conference next month.
“I feel like what we will show this year is stuff we are committed to, from top studios, for this year and future,” Spencer said.
You won’t have to wait until E3 for everything, though. According to Spencer, “you’ll get a couple things before” the show. He promises May will be a “good month for news,” and that plans took a month to be finalized.
Microsoft’s E3 announcements will consist of “both new IP and new sequels,” Spencer said. The company will also announce some of the new studios it’s working with.
But the main focus is the ‘hardcore gamer,’ Spencer added.
We’ll likely see some Japanese Xbox One games at the show, as well. When asked, Spencer teased “you won’t have to wait until TGS” to see them.
And what about 343 Industries? “I have strict orders from [343 boss Bonnie Ross] that I can’t talk about anything related to a 343i IP,” Spencer said. It’s rumored the company is working on a Halo 2 remake, alongside the new Halo announced at last year’s E3.
