[Update] Microsoft doing something never before done at E3

Microsoft will do something at E3 next month that has never been done before, according to Xbox programming director Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb.

“It’s going to be the first time this has ever been done at E3. Ever,” Hryb said on episode 510 of his podcast.

Hryb didn’t provide further detail. Microsoft’s E3 press conference is planned for the morning of June 9. Though, it’s unknown whether we’ll see this ‘never before seen’ demonstration at the press conference, or rather sometime on the show floor.

Update: Hryb has provided clarification on Reddit.

“OK. Let’s step back a bit,” Hryb said on Reddit. “In the podcast, I said I was doing something never done before. When I said ‘we’ it was in the context of the podcast…not the overall Xbox business. Sure there are some announcements for E3 but I don’t know everything that we (Xbox business) are announcing.”

On Twitter, he added, “I was referring to something I will be doing…a little side project.”
