The next entry in the Borderlands series is Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, 2K Games and Gearbox Software confirmed.
Due out this fall and in development at 2K Australia, the game is set on the Pandora moon of Elpis, where players will use an array of new weaponry in “gravity-bending,” “zero-atmosphere” gunfights.
Players can become one of four new playable characters contributing to the development of the Hyperion Corporation. Fighting alongside Borderlands 2 nemesis Handsome Jack, players will witness his transformation into the “megalomaniacal tyrant” he becomes.
During a presentation to press earlier this week, Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford ruled out a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release, saying the game is being built for “the platforms we know our customers have.”
If you’re at PAX East in Boston this weekend, 2K Games will offer a first look at the game in action.
