Ono discusses Deep Down in PS4 Creator’s Talk video
Gimmicks, environmental factors, and equipment discussed.Yoshinori Ono shared new details upcoming free-to-play dungeon RPG Deep Down in a new PlayStation 4 “Creator’s Talk” video.
We’ve highlighted several points from the video below.
- Various gimmicks will appear in dungeons. Although the dungeons themselves are automatically generated, gimmicks appear according to a set algorithm, increasing the game’s strategic elements. There are a number of mechanisms throughout the game that make it a deep experience.
- The game is filled with environmental variables that can change as you play, including pitfalls and transforming walls. Through this, players will find new paths, new memories to acquire, and various other hidden objects.
- Equipment will gradually degrade as you play. Things will rust, lose their luster, or even have plants growing on them. Your abilities and various other aspects of the game will therefore change in response to these conditions. But thanks to PlayStation 4’s graphical capability, these things are getting easier to intuit.
- The game will put emphasis on how you go about living as a member of the Ravens.
