Human Element, the first game from former Call of Duty creative strategist Robert Bowling’s studio Robotoki, is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC using Crytek‘s CryEngine, the developer announced.
The PC version will launch in November 2015. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions have yet to be dated. A “secondary” experience is also in development for mobile platforms, and will follow the PC release.
Human Element is an open-world survival game that tasks players with rebuilding society 35 years after a zombie apocalypse, and adapt as the world evolves based on their actions.
“The ambitious narrative and gameplay of Human Element required an innovative set of features in order to achieve our vision.” said Bowling. “CryEngine is the perfect fit for us because it delivers so many powerful features straight out of the box such as the physical based shading system and the infinite terrain from segmented worlds to create a massive open world experience but still allow the visual fidelity and detail our players expect from a first person experience from our team.”
In related news, a prequel to Human Element originally announced for Ouya has since been cancelled, Bowling confirmed.
