Microsoft teasing Xbox One Sakaguchi JRPG? [Update: No]
Fan jokingly asks on Twitter, Phil Spencer responds, "Tuesday...."Take this one with a bucket of salt. Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer has taken to Twitter with an interesting response to a fan question.
“So when do you think you’re ready to tell us about that JRPG [Final Fantasy creator Hironobu] Sakaguchi is working on for the Xbox One?” Twitter user SenjutsuSage asked in a Tweet.
He added, “Just fishing… humor me.”
And Phil Spencer responded with only, “Tuesday….”
Now, we say to take this with a salt because we don’t know if Spencer is serious, or if he’s just, as he was asked, humoring his audience.
This would tie in well, however, with Spencer’s comments from November.
“We have signed some things in Japan that we haven’t announced that we’ll announce in… ’14 so that people get to hear about support in Japan,” Spencer said at the time. “I’ve been a big fan of our partnerships in Japan. Futatsugi just finished Crimson Dragon, and I’m proud of what he was able to do.”
Update: It’s not an actual thing, folks.
“I was joking, he said to humor him,” Spencer clarified on Twitter.
“I like Sakaguchi-san, doing [Blue Dragon] and [Lost Odyssey] was really great. Apologies again if I created anticipation. I haven’t talked MW in awhile,” he added.
