Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition out tomorrow

PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions still to be dated.

The PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft will arrive on the PlayStation Store tomorrow, December 17 in North America and Wednesday, December 18 in Europe, Mojang has announced.

The PlayStation 3 version comes with “everything present in other console versions,” is “pretty much identical to play,” and “will be developed in tandem [with other console versions] from now on,” according to Mojang.

Downloadable skins and texture packs will also be available for Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition “soon after release.” Mojang said it “would be cool” to release PlayStation-specific content, as well.

Mojang ‘doesn’t know’ yet if the PlayStation 3 version of Minecraft will feature remote play or compatibility with the upcoming PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions.

But it does know that Herobrine will “probably not” be featured.
