Media Create Sales: 12/9/13 – 12/15/13

3DS adaption of Puzzle & Dragons debuts on top.

This week’s Media Create sales are led by Puzzle & Dragons Z. The GungHos’ 3DS adaption of the hit smartphone game debuted at over 543,000 sales.

Pokemon X and Y follow in position two, moving another 159,000 units. The 3DS Pokemon sequel has sold over 3.36 million copies in Japan to date.

Not far behind, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Creation, the 30th anniversary title in Tecmo Koei’s turn-based strategy series, opened on PlayStation 3 at 54,000 sales.

On the hardware side, Nintendo sales were strong this week. 3DS LL moved nearly 131,000 units, a 41 percent increase from last week’s 92,000. Wii U sales increased 53 percent, going from last week’s 48,000 to almost 75,000 this week. And standard 3DS sales were about 51,000, a 54 percent increase from last week’s 33,000 sales.

On the Sony side, hardware sales remained largely stagnant, but with a 5,000 unit increase in PS Vita sales compared to last week.
