PocketStation announcement coming November 5

You know, that Memory Card peripheral that came out in 1999.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan will make an important announcement regarding PocketStation, the original PlayStation‘s Japan-only Memory Card peripheral, on November 5, the company announced.

A website and teaser video went live alongside the announcement. The website features the text “gokuhi” in the URL, which means “strict secrecy.”

The “Mystery Truck Chase” video shows a news crew who heard rumors about “some new kind of product.” During an interview, a suspicious transporation truck with Toro in the driver’s seat passes by, and is headed towards Sony Computer Entertainment in Shinagawa. The crew chases down the truck and stakeout Toro, only to be greeted by a sign teasing the November 5 announcement.
