Grand Theft Auto V sales top 29 million worldwide

Surpasses Grand Theft Auto IV lifetime sales in six weeks.

Grand Theft Auto V sales have topped nearly 29 million units worldwide, Rockstar Games parent Take-Two announced in its Q2 2014 fiscal results.

The game, which received over 160 perfect scores worldwide, is the fastest-selling entertainment release in history, grossing over $800 million in retail sales during the first 24 hours after launch and over $1 billion in three days.

Six weeks after launch, Grand Theft Auto V‘s sales have already surpassed lifetime sales of Grand Theft Auto IV.
