Nintendo is bringing Wii Sports to Wii U in the form of the downloadable Wii Sports Club, the company announced this morning.
Wii Sports Club brings the original game’s five sports—bowling, tennis, baseball, boxing, and golf—to high-definition with Wii MotionPlus technology and an online multiplayer versus mode.
Players will be registered to online state or regional clubs and can chat with one another via Miiverse during matches. People can play against each other in casual matches, or play against members of rival clubs to increase their club rankings.
Tennis and bowling will be the first two sports available when Wii Sports Club launches on November 7. Boxing, baseball, and golf will follow in the “months ahead.” All users will have an initial 24-hour period where they can access both sports for free. When that period ends, players can either purchase each sport permanently for $9.99, or pay $1.99 for one day’s access to every sport.
