Hyper Light Drifter, an upcoming 2D action RPG in the vein of 8-bit and 16-bit classics from indie developer Heart Machine, has added a PlayStation 4 and PS Vita stretch goal to its Kickstarter campaign.
The project, which has currently received $109,000 in funding, is seeking $220,000 for the PlayStation versions. Cross-buy is currently “undetermined,” but those who contribute $15 to the campaign will be able to choose between PlayStation 4, PS Vita, PC, Mac, or Linux versions of the game.
The game promises to be “dark and fantastic, with giant forests to navigate, huge floating structures to explore, deep crumbling ruins to loot, massive throngs of enemies to rend, and behemoths both flesh and mechanical to overcome.” It plays like “A Link to the Past and Diablo, evolved,” according to the developer, which consists of “lightning fast combat, more mobility, an array of tactical options, more numerous and intelligent enemies, and a larger world with a twisted past to do it all in.”
Its core mechanics include a primary weapon—your Hard Light-composed sword—a drone sprite companion, defense system, secondary items like pistols, rifles, and seeker rones, and a dash module.
