Dark Souls II could be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. When quizzed by Eurogamer, game director Yui Tanimura didn’t rule out the possibility of next-gen versions appearing somewhere down the line.
“Only existing consoles and PC are confirmed,” Tanimura said. “I think it has to be decided for next generation consoles like Xbox One and PS4. My personal opinion as creator is that I’m really interested in next generation and I’m willing to make games for PS4 and Xbox One.”
Dark Souls II was dated tonight for a worldwide launch on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 beginning March 11. According to Tanimura, the PC version was not dated because From is “working on more options on how to make the PC version optimal.”
“Our goal is to release the PC version in the same window,” Tanimura said. “For the PC version we’re simply saying March – we’re trying our best for PC and console. The reason we can’t announce the specific date is we’re working on more options on how to make the PC version optimal.”
