Q-Games and LittleBigPlanet Vita developer Double Eleven are bringing an enhanced version of PixelJunk Monsters to PS Vita, with PC and Mac versions to follow.
Dubbed PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD, the PS Vita game includes all the post-release content added to the 2008 PlayStation 3 version, such as the ‘Encore’ level pack, and implements new touch controls and PS Vita trophies.
The game marks the start of a new partnership between Q-Games and Double Eleven involving multiple games. Double Eleven hopes it, among other partnerships, will eventually allow the company to create its own IP.
PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD will launch for PS Vita in late summer, and for PC and Mac shortly after.
But is it risky to launch first on PS Vita? Eurogamer asked Double Eleven boss Lee Hutchinson.
“Look at the Gematsu game chart,” Hutchinson said. “Games that have been out a while that are still taking 5 or 6000 a week just in Japan. If we were to do that in all three territories that would be a massive success for us. Essentially we will build Monsters as we go along.”
