Shadow of the Eternals, Precursor Games’ crowd-funded spiritual successor to GameCube‘s Eternal Darkness announced earlier this month, is unlikely to be completed if the money required to develop the project isn’t raised, Precursor exec Shawn Jackson has said.
“Since we do not have any other source of funding, it is unlikely [we’ll complete it in that circumstance],” said Jackson during a recent Reddit AMA.
Precursor Games currently has two crowdfunding campaigns active—one on its official site and another on Kickstarter. The studio has currently raised $274,175 of its $1.35 million dollar goal across both campaigns.
18 days still remain to reach $1.35 million. But be aware. I’d advise against putting money towards the official site’s campaign, as “a donation cannot be cancelled or returned once it has been completed, whether or not Precursor Games completes the Game or fulfills the specified reward.” Scratch that. Their updated FAQ says they’ll “refund all pledges.”
Thanks, Eurogamer.
