Japanese arcade game Pokemon Tretta is coming to 3DS.
Titled Pokemon Tretta Lab, the 3DS game, which is more of a companion app to the arcade game, uses a “Tretta Scanner” attachment, compatible with 3DS and 3DS XL models, to read Tretta tiles and scan in Pokemon. The game itself is included with the attachment as a download code.
Pokemon Tretta Lab offers three modes:
- Tretta Analyzer: Displays the Pokemon’s 3D model and stats, like type and strength, read from Tretta tile.
- Type Checker: Allows users to check the type compatibility between two Pokemon scanned in from Tretta tiles.
- Auto-Battle: A battle mode where two Pokemon scanned in from Tretta tiles fight. You’ll be able to battle with friends and set various rules.
Pokemon Tretta Lab will launch in Japan on August 10 for 3,800 yen with Mewtwo, Eevee, and Lucario Tretta tiles. First-run purchasers will get a bonus Pichu tile.
