Dynasty Warriors 8 coming west in July

Action game sequel to hit two consoles overseas.

Dynasty Warriors 8 is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America on July 16 and in Europe on July 12, Tecmo Koei has announced. And it will have both English and Japanese voice-overs with English, French, and German subtitles

The latest installment in the tactical action franchise, which launched for PlayStation 3 in Japan this past February, follows the stories of the kingdoms of Wei, Wu, Shu, and Jin through the historical military and political figures of the time as they fight to gain control over the Three Kingdoms of China.

In addition to Story Mode, the game adds “numerous replay elements” like multiple endings, extra modes “with synergies between action and game systems,” new episodes, 40 “completely new” stages, over 70 playable characters (some new, many returning), and ‘What if?’ scenarios that break away from historical fact to show “what could have happened if…” Stories will have different outcomes depending on the player’s choices.
