Dead Island developer Techland has announced a new first-person co-op slasher called Hellraid for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The game, formerly known as “Project Hell,” offers “two games in one,” according to Techland: “a single-player story-driven campaign of hack and slash action,” and a “unique, co-operative multiplayer that pits four players against the denizens of hell, and each other, in a battle for points, rewards, and fame.”
It will use an “advanced, immersive combat system” combining melee, ranged, and magical weapons, and has a “Game Master” system to “make each game a different experience, placing loot and enemies while generating random online challenges.”
Furthermore, Hellraid promises “exploration, looting, questing, weapon crafting, boss fights, armor customization, character development, leaderboards, magic,” and more. It’s due out later this year.
