CD Projekt RED has shared new screenshots and details on its 2014-due story-driven, open-world RPG sequel The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
“The Witcher 3 is full of impactful decisions, and gamers will choose between storylines that exclude one another in a single playthrough, ensuring extensive replay value. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crowns the trilogy with the main narrative, revolving around Geralt’s search for his loved ones and his conflict with the Wild Hunt,” said CD Projekt RED boss Adam Badowski.
“As players travel through the game, they visit lands with their own unique atmosphere, communities and memorable characters. CD Projekt RED didn’t create an open world with a singular theme, but concentrated on delivering diversified and engaging environments, 30 times larger than those in The Witcher 2.”
Depending on the player’s actions and their involvement in major local plot-lines and side-quests, the settings of The Witcher 3 will change. The game promises around 50 hours of gameplay for the main story, and another 50 hours for the additional stories, totaling at around 100 hours of gameplay.
Today’s screenshots show the chilly islands of Skellige. CD Projekt RED notes these are from an “early version” of the The Witcher 3. View the batch at the gallery.
