Who’s going to buy FFX HD? If you are, are you going with PS3, VITA, or both?

    • Bloodios

With all the games coming out this year, I don’t think I can afford a Vita anytime soon…, so I’m going with the PS3 version.

      • Tac-Mex

Me too, I rather play those games more comfy in my ps3 than in a handheld

        • Kobracon

It’s more buyer preference. Some of us would kill for a chance to play FFX on the go. Some prefer a more home experience. It all depends.

    • Solomon_Kano

Both. After snagging a number of PS1 Classics and PSP games I’d missed out on on Vita, I really like playing JRPGs on the system. At the same time, playing FFX on my TV like old times is something I’m looking forward to. Plus, I never played X-2, so the PS3 version’s got that going for it as well.

      • Tac-Mex

X-2 has one of the most horrible plots of any JPRGS however it have one of the best battle systems

        • Solomon_Kano

So I’m told. I’ll sit through the plot for some good gameplay.

        • PrinceHeir

          no just no

          • Tac-Mex

No, what? X-2 ruined the plot of FF X, the combat system is one of the best though

            • PrinceHeir

              how did it ruin it?

by going all heat warming and happy go feel to it?

the plot was great, people only complained because it wasn’t dark compared to FFX.

              it explained alot like:

more importantly Shuyin who is the real Zanarkand Ace from 1000 years ago and Tidus was based of off him(he was part of the “Dream” of the real “Zanarkand”, and the original Songstress Lenne and how it mirrored the relationship of her and Shuyin between Tidus and Yuna.

Yuna’s personal feelings, and how she feels about their friendship with Yuna and Paine and who comes first etc

              also Paine as a character!!

              the original Lightning :P.

internal conflicts after the war with sin, unity with of all groups like Al Bhed joining everyone etc.

we also get to learn more of the Al Bhed as well as a secret weapon that was built originally to fight Sin himself(Vegnagun),

secrets of Yevon and what is really about.

              *END SPOILERS

i could go on and on, people just didn’t like because of the change of atmosphere. lack of change of characters(only three)

also the writers, directors and even Sakaguichi(before he left the company) were same from FFX to FFX-2.

so the story wasn’t changed at all.

in fact the transition were smoothly and i don’t remember any retcons they did(the change of some the personalities could be a bad thing and the sudden marriage of Wakka and LuLu was probably a surprising move)

again this is just an opinion so it all depends on the person.

i do agree that the battle system IS the BEST in FF series.

Real Time ATB System with dresspheres and grids and you can have a multiple styles of approach, tons of new minigames as well as side missions for added story.

and the best of all, Via Infinito dungeon, pretty much one of the hardest and most satisfying dungeons to complete.

FFX-2 is definitely a worthy sequel to FFX.

        • Zuhri69

Depends. While the characters are quite off putting, the plots are interesting. Meh, different strokes I guess.

    • Tac-Mex

Hello, i am new here ^_^

I am going to get them but i think those games are just a quick cash-grab, i wish SE treat better their fans, we still don’t have an announcement of the localization of Type 0 and Bravely Default > ; (

      • Hello! Welcome to Gematsu. =)

    • I’ll get both

    • Gonna go with PS3, even though I own Vita. This year is too much for my PS3, dunno if I can save up for PS4.

    • Azuardo

Haven’t got Vita yet but would have settled on PS3 regardless. Think I’d rather relive the experience on a large TV, even though handheld FFX is so sweet in itself.

    • LordKaiser

I will and also KH 1.5 and for PS3. I’m selling my old versions

      • Kurisu Makise

I’ve already sold my old versions of these titles so I’m definitely ready. Ah, if only KH 1.5 also slid over to Vita ~_~

    • Still bummed that you guys get Vita versions but us Kingdom Hearts fans don’t. What gives? Is it Disney again? (said to be the reason why Birth by Sleep never got a PSN release) I already have 2-3 copies of every KH game and really don’t need more unless I can keep them in my pocket. Of course, I’ll get them anyway at some point because it’s my favorite franchise, but still, major bummer.

      • Elvick

I would kill to be able to play the original KH on a portable. So bummed it’s not on Vita too. Maybe in the future? ):

        • Personally I’d rather have KH2, so here’s hoping that by the time they release that on PS3 they’ll put out a Vita version as well. Or they could just release it on PS4 with remote play support, either works for me.

      • Sae-Won Yoon

Maybe we’ll get KH 1.5 on vita?

Who say’s you can’t be hopeful for Square Enix? Right?……….right?…….

    • Elvick

Both. Assuming the Vita versions will be released at retail.

Can’t pass up the chance to play FFX and FFX-2 anywhere I want. And I can’t not have it on PS3 either. :P

    • HassanJamal

Totally buying for vita. JRPGs are more fun on the go. If there was cross buy, id get both.

      • shafiq95

u sure?i always felt that dialog heavy games are better on home consoles

        • HassanJamal

Totally, Im always on the go so i like continuing my progress on the go. Especially long games like JRPGs.

    • PrinceHeir

already plan to along with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix :)

    • Kurisu Makise

This girl over here for one. Which platform? PS Vita but if I could snag em at a good price, I’d be tempted to get it for both platforms. If not, RPGs are best in dat comfy bed (with headphones).

    • Zuhri69

Vita baby. God knows how I need to clear the dust off it.

    • almostautumn

Vita. If the game is available on a portable, I always take the portable. I like the Standby options of the handhelds, and I also just dig handhelds in themselves. It’s nothing about the actual portability as I don’t play videogames outside of my home; I just prefer that overall control and relax that handhelds offer.

    • new_tradition

I’ve been wrestling with this decision for a long while, but I think I’ll settle on the combo PS3 version first, and the Vita version for FFX later on (hopefully after a price drop).

Still undecided about getting FFX-2 for Vita or not. Aside from it *not* being a fave enough to buy it 3 times, I recall using a walkthrough for a lot of the sidequests. Not sure if I can manage a on-the-go set up, lol.

  • I’m on a backlog streak, just got Kami Jigen Neptune V from NISA which will keep me occupied for awhile.

On a side note phase two testing for FFXIV ARR starts in April, be nice if I get in. Haven’t played a good mmo in forever and from what I read ARR looks to be what I’m looking for, but I still want Blade and Soul

  • Bloodios

I seriously, and I mean SERIOUSLY want Hawken and Reset to come to the PlayStation 4. I’m desperately craving for some beautiful mech games for console.

    • Tac-Mex

Me too but i rather play those games on pc

      • Bloodios

Well, yeah, I’m no good at building PC so I’ll just stick with wishing for these to come to consoles…

    • Solomon_Kano

Now Hawken I knew about, but this is the first I’ve heard of Reset. That was a nice trailer. Yea, it’d be really nice to see Hawken make it PS4. I’m not interested in building a gaming PC.

  • z_merquise

Can’t think of anything to post for now but since I’m so excited for Dragon’s Crown, I’ll just post here this trailer:

Now I wonder why there’s no official release date yet for the English version though Amazon (the site, not the character class in this game) stated that it’s August 6, 2013.

    • PrinceHeir

      gonna get this soon!!!

  • Redichi24

useless but we do need more updates on Final fantasy versus XIII!

  • Skeletor

Is this a Playstation only site or is xbox gaming news just that pathetically nonexistent?

    Serious question.

    • Tac-Mex

There are barely xbox exclusives (if you count kinect games as “exclusive” games so yeah, there are many), this website is mostly for japanese videogames and ps3 games

    • Microsoft has sorta been quiet for the last few months. I’d imagine more Xbox news will be coming when they announce the new console.

Sony has been featured quite a bit lately, but they did announce a new console recently.

Things will likely even out a bit more soon.

      • 真紅太刀 (ShinkuTachi)

Well, there is that. However, there is also the fact that most traffic is coming here for Japanese gaming news. Sites serving the demographic that Gematsu serves are almost non-existent in English.

On the other hand, in the English speaking world, you can bury yourself in Microsoft and Western gaming news in no time flat.

While there is Western coverage here. I really appreciate the fact that Sal doesn’t dig too deep into that stuff. I come here for JP gaming news I can’t get anywhere else and the community. If I wanted Western news, I could go elsewhere.
I’m glad that I don’t have to dig through mounds of Western news when I come here, to get to the Japanese stuff I want to see.

        • Very true. The name of the website is Gematsu after all. =)

I’ll say this much, I know Sal does his best to post what he thinks our community is interested in.

          Sal = Awesome. =D

          • 真紅太刀 (ShinkuTachi)

            I couldn’t agree more mate :)

J-Games are my thing, and Sal keeps us supplied with news concerning that. So you won’t be seeing any complaints from me~ ^_^

            • I’m really glad you are enjoying Gematsu. Makes me very happy. =)

    • KingKellogg The Waffle Haggler

MS has been deadwhen it comes to news, for about the last 5 months :

    • Elvick

Most news I’ve seen about MS recently, anywhere, are just rumors about their next system. Not much else. Well, aside from the multiplats obviously.

    • You probably have seen some Gears of War articles here before, right?

Why it’s non-existent is because Microsoft is being quiet lately… I swear I haven’t heard anything new from Microsoft for quite some time…

  • Kobracon

Is anyone kind enough to join me in some Co-op God of War Multiplayer? I’ve been trying for hours to get an online game going but I never can. I need help to test once and for all if its my connection or something else thats wrong….

Edit: As if to troll me. I managed to get 2 games going this morning. Disconnected from the third and now I’m back to square one….The games I played weren’t that laggy either so it can’t be my connection….

    • Tac-Mex

I don’t have Ascension yet, is it good?

      • Kobracon

Well its still God of War with some interesting additions and changes. Camera can be a jerk sometimes when it pulls away to show off the epic landscape WHILE you are fighting off hordes of bugs or satyrs which is really annoying.

Action is still fantastic and the setpieces are as epic as ever. And surprisingly, the multiplayer has potential. As I have stated, I am currently having trouble trying it, but I’ve seen videos.

  • LordKaiser

After buying WKCII and fighting to get at least the quests that have the true ending of the game. Sony and D3 Publisher decided to shut down WKCI-WKC2 servers.

The hatred of the WKC comunity against D3 Publisher is very big and it will result in Boycott but what’s .19 million to D3P? or .06 in Europe? And of those who bought it how many played online or even got the Platinum?

Unlike Japan that had a calendar on their official WKC2 website that showed all the scheduled releases, here in America and Europe we had to guess and wait.

Also there was not international release and very separate dates for America and Europe and worse of all different publishers.

Here goes the only free to play online RPG that it’s not pay to win like DC Universe for the PS3. (Well DCUO feels more like a brawler game than a RPG)

Anyway among the things players miss will include:

Lightwing Weapons Lv.65 (Needed to bind True King weapon at GR30)

Formal set ( Needed to make the Formal II Set at GR26)…ticular-armor/

Parade set Lv65 (needed to make ceremonial at GR26.) (Don’t have all screenshots but looks like a bronze plate mail.)

Shambala set Lv.65 that looks like blue clothes from the middle east.

Spectral set GR26 (Looks like Glossy blue)

Gilded set GR26 (Looks like this but white, this is the unreleased chaos set)

    Cyclas set GR26 no photo.

This video shows what we have on DLC quest so far except the last 3 that
japan got with our patch but because these quests are still
    untranslated we had them locked.

The following are some equipment we will never have and are the last stuff that JP got.

These are the other Final weapon set that are counter part to the True King’s weapons:
They are King Seong at GR40 and Falcio at GR50

This is the King Seong Heavy Armor set at GR40

This is the True King’s Armor set that it’s medium (GR40)

And this last 1 is the last mage gear that I forgot the name

Anyway I met good players on this games and I have good memories in this
game but I’m reluctant to buy another F2P online game and I don’t like
the communities on P2P Online RPGs. If a game have a online mode I won’t
buy it even if trophies don’t reflect it. With this it goes away the
only free to play RPG on PS3 worth playing as I don’t like P2W games
like DCUO. This game last quests required good teamwork and strategy to
beat and full knowledge of each class and the role it class filled.

I’m proud of all the good players I met and I forever remember DHC who
was my 1rst guild and we had a lot of fun also Empyreal where many of my
friends from DHC go to when it died and finally Crystal Star.

This is my team regardless of guild.

Kaiselly –> This is my avatar or toon. I’m SS, LS and Bow but my main class is SS.

Arietta –> Very controversial figure on WKC2 message boards and
Excellent mage. She’s a RL tsundere (She did a lot to try to save the

Ester –> Excellent Axe and Bow user

Makoto –> Same as Ester plus a good friend (He always use a class opposite to Ester)

Ryu –> LS forever and a good friend

James –> Spear User and the main tank. (Also tried to save the game)

No mater what quest was thrown at us we would destroy it.

Special thanks to Ayame for teaching me how to play back on WKCI and
everyone else on my friend-list to quest with me and to the guild
    masters Metsu and Crystal

for accepting me on their guilds.
It was fun while it lasted:

      • LordKaiser

Lay off the sugar or buy new glasses.

      • Kobracon

I understand you’re new here. First off, welcome. Second thing, don’t do that. We write alot in these things and you better get used to them.

    • I would’ve played that game more if the gr leveling wasn’t insane

      • LordKaiser

GR grinding became a joke with February quests on WKC2. But GR means nothing if you dint had proper equipment for your quests. But yes it was grindy like many online RPGs

    • Elvick

By all means boycott D3. They’re terrible.

I’m tired of people blaming Level-5 though and punishing them for it. It’s not their fault. So not buying Ni no Kuni won’t help WKC2 get any DLC. smh

I swear, every post about anything new (on facebook) from Level-5 is filled with bitching about this DLC. Tired of it. And I loved WKC.

      • LordKaiser

Agreed and also Level-5 was kind enough to respond. They’re free from guilt. Here is the screenshot of a e-mail that my friend Arietta received:

        Dear Arietta,

We would like to thank you for letting us know about your concerns with White Knight Chronicles II.
Unfortunately, LEVEL-5IA nor its parent company, LEVEL-5, has any authority to release the
downloadable content or to take any action that affects the current status of the game.

LEVEL-5 was contracted as a developer by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan,
who retains the right to make all business decisions concerning the title, including additional content licensing.
Furthermore, Sony Computer Japan licensed it to D3Publisher for release in North America.

        We completely understand your frustration.
It is with the utmost regret that you are unable to receive the satisfaction you deserve from a LEVEL-5 developed product,
and we will endeavor to ensure that our ability to keep our customers happy is not compromised in the future.

    • Kobracon

      Oh no D:

God damn I waited too long…..I always thought this would be here for me to really get into when I have more time….but I guess now its too late… this is such a shame…

I have a feeling WKC3 won’t be localised either. I feel it would be much more beneficial to just learn jap and play the jap servers of WKC.

I hope you find a good an MMO as WKC was someday, LordKaiser.

      • LordKaiser

WKC3 will not happen as the to be continue was about the Avatar Story Quest who concluded the game and focused on your avatar. This story starts when you receive your Knight from Framboise. The black holes that Framboise thought she was creating but it was Ideya Anima’s doing. She’s the true villain in the game and the one who gave Madoras the Incorruptus technology. Her army invades your world thought the blackholes.

        • Kobracon

Ohhh….geez that really is a dick move from D3…..

    • PrinceHeir

      that fucking sucks :

i do wonder if Level 5 plans on making a new White Knight Chronicles or a completely new JRPG that has the same style as White Knight Chronicles??

    • 真紅太刀 (ShinkuTachi)

If I may ask…why do you not like the communities in P2P MMOs?
I can’t speak for others, but the community when I played FFXI was nice and very helpful. A large portion of these have moved on to FFXIV or will be moving on during FFXIV 2.0

I’ve made some lifelong friends through those games.

      • LordKaiser

Because most of them treat the game like a job and the guilds that form around them tend to be bossy to the point of dictating what class to use and I don’t take orders from anyone. Many play by the “I’m paying to play this so I should not waste my time with newbies” and other elitist attitudes.

The only way to survive there is to make true friends online and because in P2P games players are always in a rush, the rarely talk.

Half of WKC2 players that go there and a lot will do are lazy players that want to be carried by the hand by higher levels rather than playing with players of their Level. They will quit the game.

I cannot talk about FFXI community but the Tera and wow was like this and the 1rst Ragnarok online.

I have friends from WKC2 who are excellent players (4) that will move to FFXIV but they can pay a monthly fee and I no longer can.

        • 真紅太刀 (ShinkuTachi)

I appreciate you taking the time to answer me.
While the community at FFXI was overall nice and helpful in my experience; sadly, there are people like you mentioned on FFXI as well. I find that there are people that do that on any game with online multiplayer though. That’s really just a part of dealing with the public unfortunately.
Hell, I’ve seen it happening on WKC and DCUO too. There really is no getting away from players like that unless you shut yourself out from multiplayer experiences.

You seem pretty cool though man ^_^
If your situation changes, and you are able to play FFXIV, please join and let me know. I will tell you what server I’m on and what-not; and I will welcome you there with open arms.

        • I feel this post, I really do. I’ve been playing MMORPGs for years now. I know how tough it is to find the right group of people, to get away from the stupid drama, to find people that want to just have fun.

I’ve been the leader of many clans in these types of games, some of the most stressful I’ve ever been a part of.

Trust me, like @pyrofrost:disqus said, good people exist in these games. I’m sorry you have had crap experiences, I’ve had them myself, like I said, it’s not the type of stuff you want to read or hear about from others.

I hope you can find a new home in a new game, or something good like that!

Perhaps, as time goes along, when more games come along, we can start a Gematsu group or something of the sort?

          • LordKaiser

Well my experience with Free to Play is different as they tends to be friendly and i had heard that Guild Wars 2 have a good community.

Making Friends in P2P is essential and I say friends not just partners. But yes I know good people exist in P2P but finding them is not easy.

In FFXIV I may not have that problem… i was talking about P2P in general and not just FFXIV. Tera Online before being Free 2 Play if you asked help they will tell yo to go solo. It happened to a friend from Australia. if people want to play solo they could play a offline game I guess.

            • It’s sorta odd, lots of mmorpgs are being crafted today to allow players to solo. Or, the developers want to make it really easy, for the casual crowd.

The solo part is kinda weird, because you typically end up with a game that feels like it should have been an offline experience. I’ve played a bit of Guild Wars 2 & Star Wars the old Republic. I found myself enjoying those games more solo, when I was doing story missions.

Guild Wars 2 is kinda odd when it comes to teaming up, because the dynamic events are so plentiful, that you play with other players often, but it doesn’t feel the same as building up a party. It’s a love/hate thing for me, because people seem to communicate less that way. I don’t particularly like to just join clans in online games, mostly because my schedule can be quite erratic. I don’t want people to count on me, or depend on me to be online at specific times, it’s not something easy for me to do.

I played XIV for about a year, yes, I played the broken version of it. What kept me playing was the community, the other people I got to meet in the game. It was the same with FF11. Sure, I’d meet some people that I didn’t really like, but I’d also meet some great people as well.

  • KingKellogg The Waffle Haggler

I hope Kh 1.5 and FFX hd can hold me over long enough for Final Fantasy Versus 13.

  • Azuardo

Haven’t made any progress on the backlog since beating Tales of the Abyss last week, but have instead been smashing out online matches in DOA5 (still addicted), and just now finished Luigi’s Mansion 2 for review. Had a lot of fun with LM2 – definitely recommended for 3DS owners!

Oh, I bought The Walking Dead 1-5 on PS3 this week, so I guess I’ll be working through that next, and then probably Banjo Tooie will be the next one I try to finish up, just in time for Okami HD when it goes free on PS Plus Europe next month!

  • Josh

Anybody know of good RPG for 360? Would like a cyberpunk setting.

    • I believe the game you’re looking for is called Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

    • GetOffMy_Lawn

Cyberpunk setting = Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
If you’re looking for 360-exclusive RPGs, I would recommend Tales of Vesperia (my favorite game of this gen), Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, The Last Remnant, and Infinite Undiscovery.

  • Haku_Luvs_You

I don’t know why I bothered posting that. This site has turned into a pretty much a Playstation only gaming site. Nevermind about the whole Monster Hunter thing.

    • Josh

I don’t have it yet but end of week. Mind if I add? Mine is SamuraiGhost

      • Guest

        That’s fine :)

    • I would love to go co-op hunting with you on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on my 3DS(someday)… But then I’m reminded by 3DS’s lack of online play and requiring a WiiU to play online…. :(

      • Haku_Luvs_You

Yeah I wish online was on the 3ds one. Oh well I’ll try to get some people somewhere else.

  • lucisvi

ok, so if FF14 will release on both ps3&ps4 then it will be wise to buy digitaly copy? if later on i plan to buy a ps4 i can still play by downloading it back from psn instead of using the ps3 hard copy which sce stated that ps4 doesnt hv backwards compatability. Or maybe ff14 is exceptional?

    • Solomon_Kano

Not necessarily. If it’s a PS3 game, it’s still unclear at this point if it’s guaranteed to work on PS4, digital or not. I think it’ll be best to wait for Sony to clarify the exact situation with compatibility of digital titles.

  • Josh

What’s everybody expect from Next Xbox reveal? I hope for some new IPs. Also not a lot of kinect focus or I’m jumping to PS4. Although thinking bout doin it anyway.

    • Tac-Mex

It’s almost sure that Kinect will be important in the next xbox and a lot of developers wiill use it, i am not expecting anything, i play on my pc and ps3, never had a ms console

    • Solomon_Kano

Well, do you want my hopes or expectations? Because I’m hoping that they let Rare do a new Banjo Kazooie. What I’m expecting, however, is Kinect Sports Champions Neo or whatever the hell they’ll call it. I also expect Halo 5 and that Crytek Kinect game we haven’t heard about in ages.

Basically, I expect nothing to make me want an Xbox. Halo isn’t enough to sway me like it did with the 360. Especially not with Destiny happening.

  • Tetsu

What are everyone’s favorite Video Game Music/Japanese Music sites?

    • I used to check for video game music, but they’ve been kinda dead these past 2 months and I don’t know if that’ll be changing anytime soon.

Don’t care much for Japanese music these days, but Japanator is just a great blog for Japanese stuff in general and they cover music regularly. I recommend reading their newly-launched J-Note feature:

    • PrinceHeir

in addition to what Axersia said i would like you to also visit

database for Video Game music, you’ll know who is the artist as well as composers and groups of people who had worked on the OST.

Japanator is good for japanese music, but it’s more focused on anime and sometimes games.

also visit Red Flava for your japanese and other asian gravure needs :)

  • Tetsu

Have you guys heard about the Kickstarter game Shovel Knight?
Looks pretty cool, it’s made by ex-WayForward employees.

It’s gonna be on Wii U and 3DS

    • Solomon_Kano

      PC, too.

    • Looks pretty sweet. I hope it reaches the goal.

      • Tetsu

Me, too. It is very slowly climbing. Only about $1000 a day.
Hopefully it picks up more adopters.

  • Tetsu

Would you prefer Versus XIII on PS3 or PS4?

    • Either one would be fine for me. Don’t really care abt it to be honest.

    • KingKellogg The Waffle Haggler

      ps4,much more possibilities there.

      • Tetsu

If it is on PS4, it’d be awesome if it was a launch title :D

        • KingKellogg The Waffle Haggler

Agreed,It wold make the ps4 the first launch console I would ever get.

    • LordKaiser

PS3 so I can play it quick.

    • I’m not really sure to be honest. I’d sorta like to see those responsible stand by what they announced in 2006 though. It was announced for the PS3, it should be released for the PS3.

At the same time, I’d understand it coming out on the PS4 as well.

You know what? How about they do both. The PS4 can be the graphically superior version, but that way everyone can get the game.

      • Tetsu

I’d be happy with that. Although if I had the PS3 version, and I knew there was a better version out there, and that I was playing an inferior version, it would be a little bit of a let down. (I guess alot of games have superior PC versions though, huh?) Like my version got overlooked or something like that. But at the same time it’d just be nice to actually play the game lol.
But here’s hoping it comes to both.

        • It would be a lot like the PC scenario. Most of the improvements would be in the performance and visuals. I don’t think it would be a mind boggling difference. I expect PS4 games to look great at launch, but the developers usually don’t get the most out of new hardware right away.

There is also the scenario where the PS3 version could still be superior, thanks to poor programming/ not fully understanding new hardware or new console bugs and stuff.

I’d like to think that type of stuff will continue to be less of a factor, but I don’t think it will ever go away. At least they can patch games now, if they want to patch it… lol

I’d say the key in all of this is still unknown. We only have rumors, since Square-Enix is awful about communicating with fans. If the game really has shifted over to next gen, it might still be several years away. Now, that would make me unhappy, I’m very tired of being told to please wait.

I just hope the figure that still lies asleep in the Fantasy, is about to wake the hell up, time to get with it! lol

          • Tetsu

Lol, I suppose it wouldn’t be surprising if they had, ya know, gotten used to programming for PS3 for the last 6 YEARS.
But yeah, its great that patching is free and easy now, hopefully the transition is a seamless, smooth process.
I’d hope SE realized, atleast, somewhat that they’ve been taking fucking eons lol.
Metaphorically, I guess Square-Enix is Tritoch, and the fans are Terra. Except there’s been a ton of Lobos and Snow Soldiers in the way, and we can’t ever level up, for some unknown reason.

            • That last part had me cracking up. Very nice. xD

              • Tetsu

                Lol, why thank you :P

    • Elvick

PS4. But to maximize success I hope it’s on both.

      • Tetsu

Yeah I hope it’s on PS4 just because I don’t want to have to bust out my PS3 later on if I want to play it again.
But I do hope it’s on both systems :)

    • GetOffMy_Lawn

PS3. Release it on the platform it was promised on. Don’t delay it for seven years, then just push it to a whole new (expensive) console.

    • new_tradition

PS3, please. I sort of bought the system with the expectation of having Versus on it, though it wasn’t the only reason I got a PS3 over a 360.

If it comes to PS4 and not PS3, I won’t be happy at the innovations it ends up having by being on a high end system. I’ll just be disappointed and wait until the system and game goes down in pricing, even if it’s a launch title.

  • PrinceHeir

Finished Metal Gear Rising for the 3rd time(Hard, Easy, then Normal)

maxing out my swords, damn there soo many of them!!

plus haven’t touched the VR Missions, this game is too freaking good!!

    • z_merquise

I also recently finished my 4th playthrough (Very Hard). After playing nothing but MG Rising in my PS3, I guess I need a break and play other games.

If there would be a sequel, all I wanted are more levels and more boss fights. They need to also balance the rating system during fights. It’s impossible to get a good score if you use a wooden sword since you can’t “zandatsu” your enemies. And fix the damn camera too. That get’s frustrating especially when fighting many mecha-flyers and Mastiffs (the huge gorilla-like robots).

Still, it’s an awesome game and it is one of the great action games I played.

      • PrinceHeir

funny thing is that im about to play my 4th playthrough in Very Hard now XD

i kinda wanted to take a break too, but playing it really gives me the adrenaline rush, especially the Zan Datsu concept :D

yeah more boss fights(*hint No More Heroes bosses) i haven’t upgraded the wooden sword yet since i want to max out Muramasa HF Blade and Fox Blade(btw have you gotten the Gray Fox Skin and Fox Blade??)

i also played Normal with MGS4 Raiden.

i should have used Desperado Red Armor for very Hard(used it on easy) and the first costume of raiden(before he got injured his eye) for easy.

and yes fix the camera too, you don’t know how many times i failed a perfectly could have been parries if it weren’t for the camera.

also add in a customization option right from the start!!!!

i want to fix my gear first, before starting since you can only change your gear after a mission. and i want to use a certain costume for each difficulty.

also when will konami put Commando Armour(Green), Inferno Armour(Red) and Medical Armour(White) and Gray Fox(for those who didn’t pre ordered) as DLC costumes??

        • z_merquise

Oh yes! I was surprised that the Asian copies of MG Rising includes the Gray Fox DLC plus I also got the Commando Armor too.

Gray Fox costume is so cool! Fox Blade looked sweet but it’s too overpowered, I didn’t use it much because it will instantly slice most enemies.

          • PrinceHeir

            awesome stuff!!!!

i do want the White Armor suit though, the commando and inferno are pretty much useless since you have the wigs for infinite items and weapons and such.

            white armor looks badass!!!

yeah Gray Fox DLC seems overpowering, but i kinda like that since it IS Gray Fox ^^

        • Kobracon

You can customize any time after a checkpoint during a mission. Its in the Codec menu. Its only restricted in the Prologue level. After that, you can customize any time you want.

          • PrinceHeir

oh yeah i forgot about the codec!!!

i never used the customize options at first since i didn’t have alot of points back then XD

            thanks for the reminder!!

    • Kobracon

Thats a weird curve…why’d you go from Hard to Easy and then Normal?

I beat all the difficulties (OK fine I used the FOX Blade for Reveangance) and managed to ace all the VR Missions as well as at least 80% of the DLC Missions. I frikkin LOVE everything about MGR:R

      • PrinceHeir

because i wanted to experience the game first hand the hardest difficulty available from the start.

same thing with Deus Ex HR, played it Give me Deus Ex first.

since games nowadays are easy as hell.

at first it was hard for me, especially armstrong’s boss, since i mentioned last open forum i died like 30+ tims consecutively.

but i never gave up and now i managed to master the game :)

still getting S is hard, but rewarding. im more maxing out my weapons first.

same!!!!!! actually i plan on using Gray Fox and Fox Blade on Revengeance Max out since i know it’s gonna be one hell of a challenge XD

VR Missions, i’ll probably play them once i finished Very Hard first and maxed out everything.

i want to save Revengeance difficulty for last :D

        • Kobracon

I love how Very Hard not only makes enemies stronger but even ADDS different enemies at usual places. Resulting in a completely new experience Like that beginning fight in the prologue stage. There will now be 3 normal guys and a GEKKO!

Reveangeance actually isn’t that hard once you master Perfect Parry. Because in RV difficulty, EVERYTHING dies in one Perfect Parry, even bosses.

        • Kobracon

            that’s amazing :D

            i love a awesome challenge :D

yeah, even performing the Thunder Palm at first looks hard, but i can do it perfectly now XD

man we need a sequel fast!!!

though i would want a Shinobi/Kunoichi sequel first by Platinum Games!!

            • Kobracon

Can’t wait for April! Bladewolf and Sam DLC. This is PGs first ever DLC stuff. Lets see how DLC chapters are done properly! I expect fully and wholly different gameplay and movesets for both characters and hopefully even more awesome music and bosses!

              • PrinceHeir

                yeah definitely getting Sam DLC!!!!!!

                awesome stuff PG!!!

  • MosquitoLemon

Got owned at Project Justice… now to hang my head in shame and play more Dynasty Warriors Gundam.

Also fought off the ‘buy more games even though you have no time to play them’ demon. I have some free time this weekend though, might actually get to play one that I do own!

  • InternatlGamer3

So many games i still want to get for PS3
    The Last of Us,
    Tales of Xillia,
    Tales of XilliA 2,
    Disgaea D2,
    The Guided Fate Paradox,
    Time and Eternity,
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle,
    And way more.

I hear that “Final Fantasy Versus XIII” is changing name to FFXV and going to PS4. I have a feeling that this game will be exceptional as SONY is co-Developing.

    • 真紅太刀 (ShinkuTachi)

Well, that stuff concerning FFvXIII is just rumors.
I’m honestly more likely to believe the tale about it being pushed to the PS4 than I am to believe the name change.

  • InternatlGamer3

Not to mention they’ll help in making sure this Exceptional game gets development finished.

Cant wait for “Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix which is said to include KH2 Final Mix+, KH Recoded, and KH Birth by Sleep. With SONY helping why do i see a repeat of Square making more SONY Exclusives on PS4.

  • xMCXx

I’m finally playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
    Really cool game.
Just one thing bugs me….Why do I have to have Hacking Augments in almost every side quest?!
In a game that literally says “Play however you want” I’m forced to upgrade my Hacking Augments!
No alternatives in those quests. Hacking Augmentation not high enough?
    Well, too bad!

    • DesmaX

      “Play however you want”
Gain more experience by playing stealth

      Yeah, really brothered me

      • xMCXx

Also, there is almost no difference between knocking someone out and killing him ,since he never wakes up, again, anyway!
So, in a way, the developers really wanted you to play stealthy.

  • 8ing mii 8ing u

I love my joystick it gives me hours of pleasure.

  • 8ing mii 8ing u

Nowadays it’s almost all DLC (payable) and no TLC.

  • 8ing mii 8ing u

Back in the good old days there was an MSX video game called Oh! Shit.

  • 8ing mii 8ing u

It seems like Apu’s performed a magical trick and saw himself in two pieces he’s appearing in the PlayStation 4 & Xbox 480 maybe he wanted to appear in the sequel of One Piece called Two Piece.

  • Guest

Since DuckTales Remastered has been announced maybe SNK might announce DickTales Omega starring Dick Dastardly.

  • 8ing mii 8ing u

Back in the days i couldn’t believe Capcom would release such a title like DuckTales because of the originality in their video games such as Bionic Commando,Ghouls ‘n Ghosts,Strider,Commando,Ghosts ‘n Goblins.I thought SNK would have countered back with a title such as DickTales starring Dick Dastardly.

  • Anyone alive? I want some replies here lol!

Like… Holy Crap! I got a Vita!!! It’s fuggin awesome!

I decided to skip most of what is coming out this month, and take a shot on buying a used Vita. I found one used online and just went for it. Was sorta on impulse, but I took a chance. It was a pretty good bundle type of deal.

I got it for $180. Which was all my spare cash for the month… Gonna have to eat the frozen stuff in the fridge, or rice, or my canned goods for a few weeks. Oh well, whatever…

I’m used to this, or I should be by now. Video games does not = Cheap hobby.

I got it in the mail today!

    It included –

The system (Default Color) – With all the stuff included and in the original box. (The charger, manual, everything.)

8 GB Vita Memory Card – Hey, that’s better than no memory card at all!

Carrying Pouch thing – Didn’t really need it, but the cleaning cloth it has inside was a big plus. (More on that below.)

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 – I’ll gladly take this game as a throw in, thanks.

I was worried about the condition, you can’t ever trust online pictures, not 100%. I was happy to see the Vita is in like new condition. No scratches or anything of the sort! =)

I turned it on and had fun just messing around with the basic tutorial junk, I’m surprised how much I enjoy it. Played a bit of UMvC 3, pretty fun on the Vita.

I also have PS + — So I’ve already been downloading all the free Vita/PSP stuff they have been putting up. All in hopes that I would find a way to get the Vita sometime soon.

That means I have a bunch of other games to play as well.

The reason the carrying pouch isn’t that big of a deal for me? I actually had one I liked better, but I forgot.

I bought the Persona 4 Golden – Solid Gold Edition months ago. I had been keeping it put up, not exactly sure what to do with it. I even considered selling it for a while, but I never did.

Nice surprise for me lol. I forgot about it until I started thinking about Vita games I want to purchase. Oh! Persona 4 Gol…. Wait a minute! I have that already! I really got a good laugh out of that. It was still sealed, so I opened it up to find a bunch of nice stuff, including a slick looking pouch/case thing for the Vita.

Since most of my day was teh suckage, I was glad the Vita got to my house on the weekend. I didn’t expect it would, and just playing the Vita brought some positive to my otherwise negative day. Great stuff. =)

Question for Vita owners. Do all the games not include manuals? The two Vita games I physically own didn’t come with them. Instead, the manuals were digital only. Is that the norm? Any other important Vita things I should know?

Looking forward to some replies! xD

    • Solomon_Kano

Welcome to the Vita club, man. Glad to see you were able to get such a nice deal on one.

To answer your question, yes, all manuals are digital. As for other important things… well, it’s not particularly important, but I guess I’ll mention storage. I’m sure you probably know you can back your Vita’s contents up onto your PS3, which is useful in the event something should happen to your Vita, but it takes a while. Or it did in my experience, at least.

Past that, I can’t really think of anything informative to tell you about the system itself. Welcome Park does a good job of demonstrating the hardware and all of the software stuff will be self-explanatory, so there’s not really much to say but enjoy!

      • Thanks for the advice. I guess my only real thing I’m in need of is another memory card. This one is going to fill up quickly… lol

I think I like the PS Plus service more now than ever before. The copying speed doesn’t seem all that bad, I’m copying over Uncharted and Gravity Rush right now.

I didn’t have perks like this when I got my 3DS. I still only have one game for 3DS, which is Kingdom Hearts – DDD. The thing is, I kinda wanted to play some of the other KH games I’ve missed before I jump into that one. The game and 3DS was a gift, so no complaints from me. I just haven’t had money to buy games for it quite yet.

I’m just so behind on the portables, this is me coming to the realization that I want to play so many portable games, on both devices. xD

        • Solomon_Kano

I still need to get a 3DS myself. Tons of 3DS games I want to play. That seems a ways off though. I mean, I’ve only got one Vita game (Gravity Rush). The rest of my games are PS1 Classics and PSP games I missed. I was never much for digital, but the Vita’s access to as much digital content as it has has made me more accepting.

Speaking of, that brings me to memory cards. I dunno how much stuff you plan to download, but between 2 Vita games, 7 PSP games, and 4 PS1 Classics, I’ve still got 7GB free and I’ve got a 16GB card. If you can afford to do 16, I can’t really see much reason to go for the 32. I wanted to go for the 32 initially, but now that I’ve actually gotten a good deal of stuff on the system, 16 feels like more than enough. Again though, that’s dependent on how much content you intend to download. Thankfully, even with a smaller card, the ability to store titles on your PS3 and redownload at them at your leisure still gives you options.

Yea, between the 3DS and Vita, we’ve got another gen of handheld awesomeness ahead of us. It’s a good feeling.

          • Same here, I’m behind on PSP games, along with DS games as well. Lots of older stuff I still need to play before I get to buying new portable games. Well, depends on the circumstances… of course. xD

Yeah, I’m just gonna try to work with the 8GB stick I have for now. I’ve almost filled it up with the games I have, and I can’t even fit all the free digital Vita games I have on it at one time, lol.

The Vita is a bit of a finger print magnet… but that’s to be expected.

As for digital stuff – I like to get physical copies of games, everything else is iffy. I can just archive so much on my PC, and back it up on my external.

Which is what I’ve been doing with my music, pictures, videos, etc. for years now. I mean sure, I still buy Blu-ray movies every now and then, but lots of movies can be streamed/downloaded as well. I have to really want it, especially since my main hobby — video games — is pretty expensive.

I get most of my music digitally, I don’t think I’ve bought a physical CD in quite a while.

I also have been using Steam, along with playing digital only PC games for a few years now. I guess all of this has made me a bit more open to digital. I don’t think we need everything to go digital though, not at all.

I like being able to buy physical copies of stuff, I like to build up my collection. At the same time, digital stuff typically offers great savings. It’s a toss up with me on some things.

I’m pretty strict on my video games, I even bought the physical copies of Guild Wars 2, FF 14, and The Old Republic when they all launched.

I think if my main hobby was not video games, I would own lots of physical copies of whatever it was. Almost all of my digital video games were free, or were games I didn’t intend to purchase/was going to rent, and they went on sale digitally for dirt cheap. Otherwise — I buy the physical copy.

A good example is Spec Ops the line. I wanted to rent it, or “maybe” pick it up for cheap. This month it was picked to be free for PS Plus subscribers. Perfect situation for me, I can download the game for free, play it when I have time.

Sometimes the game is digital only as well. I’ve missed out on some of the digital only games to be honest. I’m trying hard to give them more respect, more of my time. I got lucky and purchased the digital bundle version of Bastion earlier this week. I’ve always wanted to play it, especially since the studio announced the new, amazing looking, Transistor.

I now have Bastion on steam, ready for me to find time and play it. All for the low price of $3. I got some extra goodies along with it too. Can’t complain about that. xD

I guess digital in gaming for me is very situational.

(Holy Moly! Sorry for long wall post here. I just got carried away lol.)

            • Solomon_Kano

Ha. It’s cool, I often end up writi lengthy comments myself, so u don’t mind at all.

You’re definitely I’m for a treat with Bastion. I got to play it back before I ditched my 360, and it’s a beautiful game. The story, gameplay, visuals, and some incredible music all come together for a standout title. Transistor is really going to be something. There’s a good 15 minutes of gameplay out, in case you haven’t caught much footage.

Stuff like Bastion, where digital is the only way to get it, that I’ve never had any qualms about. I was always just kinda wary of DD after hearing all the DRM talk from PC folks or some of Nintendo’s more outdated digital policies.

Though I always go physical if possible, PSN’s convenience has certainly made me a fan of digital purchases. Being able to buy a game once and re-download it as much as I want, certain content being available across multiple platforms on one purchase, and sometimes sheer convenience.

You’ve reminded me of the list of DS games I need to pick up once I get a 3DS. Yikes. I’ve gotta grab everything from Pokemon to Radiant Historia to Ghost Trick. I really need a job lol.

              • Radiant Historia! I want that game, very much!

I watched the Transistor gameplay on IGN. The visuals, the combat, the music! So sweet!

(Posting the offscreen gameplay video here.)

                • Solomon_Kano

I’m still kind of in awe at how well that footage was recorded. You’d think it was direct feed until a guy walks through it, and even them it took me a second to realize that wasn’t part of the game lol.

                  • Indeed. From the video, it looks like they had the game running on a huge TV. We also got lucky, no absurd screaming, or other noises killing the audio. Pretty lucky for off screen footage.

                    • Solomon_Kano

Very lucky. It’s practically a miracle that we got an uninterrupted taste of Darren Korb’s fantastic soundtrack from such a crowded show.

    • Congrats on getting a Vita! Have fun with P4G! *cries*

      • Thanks! I plan to, just as soon as I get the time for it. *Also cries*

    • Kobracon

Congrats. You got a bigger card than mine (4GB) T_T

Have fun with P4 Golden. I’m STILL playing it XD

      • Thanks buddy. =)

    • Elvick

I’m pretty sure not a single NA release has a manual (I have a lot of games so… pretty confident in my personal experience being the standard). I know some in Japan have had them (not sure about now), I think Disgaea 3 did there, and New Little King’s Story in Europe definitely had one (since I imported it).

It sucks! I miss smelling them. Nothing like smelling a new game and it’s manual… right? D:

I wish we at LEAST would always have a little advertising slip in there, because the bland solid blue is hideous. HIDEOUS. God I hate it. Looks so incomplete. I mean, I’ll pay extra for older games to get a complete game (manual, original box, etc) for a reason. And now buying new games, I get the “something is missing…” vibe.

Sucks that Sony’s first party crap on PS3 have no manuals either. Bullshit. And not even good reverse art, just a control layout. smh… Hate it.

      • new_tradition

Can I ask? You mentioned importing a game from Europe, so are you able to still use different region games and accounts on the single device? Like, I heard an update made things difficult, but I don’t entirety understand if it’s a case of just needing another memory card per region or what O_o

        • I’ve heard the same thing. Not to sure about that myself.

        • Solomon_Kano

You don’t need a different region account to play different regions’ physical games. If you want digital content, as you well know, you need another region’s account. That’s where the difficulty comes from. I haven’t switched regions on my Vita since before the update in question, but I’m told that accounts are now tied to memory cards. So if you want to get digital content from another region, you’ll need another memory card to tie that to.

Again, I might be wrong on that memory card part, but you can DEFINITELY play physical Vita games from any region with just a US account (or whichever region your primary account is).

          • new_tradition

Hmm..I have a different memory card for my EU PSP save data and dlc data. I expected to buy another memory card for the Vita anyways. Guess I could risk a digital download one day and hope for the best xD

            • Solomon_Kano

Best of luck with that haha.

I need to get another memory card myself. I don’t plan on downloading any full games from other regions, but I may find myself buying some DLC. Plus, tthere’s the matter of demos. Japan’s had that Soul Sacrifice demo forever and it’s killing me that I can’t get it. :(

              • DrForbidden

You are correct on needing more memory cards for additional PSN accounts. As for the Soul Sacrifice demo, I tried it, but wasn’t impressed by it, personally.

                • Solomon_Kano

Hm. Well, I guess I can only hope that it’s made available on the US PSN shortly.

      • It really does feel like something is missing without the manual. I feel the same way, I opened up Persona 4 and was shocked, Atlus games typically always have manuals. I guess it’s all about saving money. =/

Nothing like that new game smell. =D I’m one of those people too. Nice to know I’m not alone in the smelling weirdness. lol

        • Tetsu

Mmmm I love that new game smell, it’s nostalgic.

    • PrinceHeir

you should also get Uncharted Golden Abyss, Shinobido 2, Dead or Alive 5+ and Ninja Gaiden Sigma+ games when you get the chance :)

and yeah sometimes it happens to me when i already bought the game ahead of the console, i sometimes forgot i even have one XD

such a shame there’s no manual for Vita games.

      also pro tip

for everyone wanting a proper manual Sony has one online the explains pretty much ALL of the features of the vita(not sure if they put new ones via Firmware)

i can’t fucking believed they won’t let anyone knows this, i had to search all of it on the net.

i read some of it, i need to read the “Transfer” section for PSP/PS1/PSN games alike!

      enjoy your vita!!!

      • Thanks. =)

I have Uncharted Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus already. All of them have been free for PS Plus subscribers at one time or another.

I’ll have to check out some other Vita games when I get the chance. I gotta find time to play the ones I already have. =P

    • Kurisu Makise

Congratulations! Achievement unlocked: Console gaming on the go.

Like you I’ve been stacking PS Vita games and such, knowing that eventually, like you; the perfect opportunity would sneak up for purchase. However when PS+ got a few games for free I decided to get rid of the two I was hoarding, since Gravity Rush is free and I sense Hot Shots will be eventually, if not the digital price is fine now and it was always the type of game I’d prefer on a mem card (and I got that one in like-new condition and not new). I remember opening the case and not seeing a manual, I think that was the sign that “Eh, should have these games digital then”. I mean, the convenience of the store and seeing your collection all in one spot is a nice feeling since the cases are empty now.

Also, I have to express the envy that is being able to get things delivered on a weekend. So lucky >>! Let me (us) know when you’ve played Gravity Rush via PS+, that’ll be the game to seal it for you I’m sure. Uncharted just being a sweet bonus after that. Now I’m starting to think I should just aim for a used one and save the money on PSN cards instead, hmm…I’ll think about it.

      • Thanks. =) I plan on trying out more of the games I have soon, including Gravity Rush.

The no manuals thing is a bit odd. I posted a bit about it below, but it feels like something is just missing when you open up the game case. It feels strangely empty…

My only problem so far is the memory storage space. I knew all about this before I bought it, so it’s not a surprise at all. I’m just going to try and make it work for now. I’d say the memory space is the primary reason to still try and get physical copies of games, when possible. I’ll be on the look out for some memory card deals though.

I got mine on ebay. I just started taking a look at buy it now listings every day or so. I missed out on some good deals on used Vita’s. Lots of those were me being very indecisive. I like to read peoples reviews, look closely at the pictures, even contact and ask questions. I’m a picky ebay person, but when I do buy, I pay right away and stuff. The bundle I bought was kinda done on impulse. I checked things over, and didn’t want to miss out on what looked like another great deal. Things turned out great for me, but I had a back up plan in case what I got was in awful condition. Thankfully, I didn’t need the backup plan. lol

        • Rezar

You should get Gravity Rush right now. I was going to buy it then it was free for Playstation Plus members.

          • Yeah, I got it back when it was free. =)

        • Kurisu Makise

Oh yeah it is a weird feeling to open the case like that but y’know saving trees (aka saving money on printing). I do think the digital manuals are a good idea though. Now you get full colour, whenever you want access to em, without losing them. The only reason there’s even a little slot in the case is for DLC codes/online passes. You’re also right about going physical to save space but then the problem becomes how do you carry around your physical library. On DS I had a pouch which could do…4 games I think. I’d want an 8 cart slot ideally since replaying your old games has some (arbitrary) meaning via trophies xD

By the way how well did you keep up with the free plus stuff? I’ve pretty much got everything in my DL list except for um Fooseball I think. Though missing MGS2/3 HD like Europe ah…unfair =( (I still own the PS2 copies and the PS1 re-release as part of the Essentials collection, the thought of double dipping tells my sensible consumer mind to behave)

          • I’ve just been adding everything to my download list. I check out what is free each month, and I get emails from the PS Blog, which helps me out with that.

Europe has gotten some really nice stuff, some would say they have a better PS Plus. I think it evens out pretty nice for everyone.

Yeah, you would need to get a case, or just put the tiny vita game carts in a pocket or something. That’s kinda risky, so maybe not. If you are just taking the Vita out for a quick trip, you can probably just keep the game you want to play in the Vita. For some kind of long trip, I’d go with a case of some kind. I already have two of them… so — I’m good. =D

System Feature – If you hold down your finger anywhere on the screen, it will allow you to move your icons around and setup up wallpapers.
Every page can have it’s own wallpaper, really cool feature.
You can also set up the swipe unlock start-up page to have it’s own wallpaper as well. Some artists have done some cool swipe gimmicks with this online, you can find them if you search for them.

PSP game recommendations – Lunar Silver Star Harmony, FFIV: Complete Collection, Mega Man: Maverick Hunter X and Ys 7. The bi-linear filtering helps out with graphics cleanup, 2D games especially.

I got Persona 4 Golden: Solid Gold Premium Edition as well! Love the console case and pouch, the game is awesome too, of course! XD

I just got DJ Max Technika Tune, and it’s pretty awesome. It’s expensive though, unfortunately.

I hope they bring Crisis Core and BBS to Vita :/

      • Solomon_Kano

Seriously. Squenix needs to get more of their PSP games on PSN. CC and BBS, I had on PSP and couldn’t finish due to my analog nub wigging out, but then there are games like SO 1 and 2 that I’d like to get for the the first time if they’d out them on the damn PSN.

        • Tetsu

Star Ocean would be awesome! Yeah I wish alot of things too :(

      • Thanks for the tip about the wallpaper. I figured out how to move the icons around, but I must have missed the wallpaper setting stuff.

I should turn bi-linear filtering on? I already put Persona 3 Portable and FF Tactics for PSP on my Vita. Is the filtering nice for all games?

How come some of the PS1 classic won’t transfer to Vita yet? I have the first Grandia as a PS1 Classic, but I can’t send it to Vita. I guess Sony hasn’t added it yet or something. I also have FF7 as a PS1 Classic, and it can be transferred to Vita. I just don’t have the space for it anymore. xD

I’ve already complained with @Solomon_Kano:disqus about the lack of SE games on PSN. We are both not pleased. lol

        • Tetsu

Yes, never turn off bi-linear filtering. It’s good in all games.

Also do NOT turn on psp color space, i find it to be rather washed out. But I guess that’s preference, even still though the Vita’s color space is far superior.

Some games you can’t download from the Vita’s store, but you CAN however get them by transferring directly from your ps3 if you download them there first. I don’t know why they havn’t allowed all of them yet. Suikoden, for example, can’t be downloaded on Vita’s PSN, but you can transfer with PS3 thankfully.

I like to change each page’s color to match the picture i set as the wallpapers dominant colors before hand, that way it makes a cool transition into the page everytime you scroll to it or away from it.

  • 8ing mii 8ing u

How does Reel Hooker sound for a Fishing video game.

  • Kobracon

Hmm…[email protected]:disqus , would it be worth it to buy FFXI for a month to try it out? Or is a month too short to enjoy the game?

    • The way the game is set up now, you could probably do quite a bit in a months time, depending on how much you play it. I’m sure the game is pretty dated looking nowadays, I haven’t played it for years though.

It used to be really tough to level and stuff, but a friend told me they raised the level cap way up, which makes it much easier to level up and accomplish things earlier on in the game.

I guess the question is how much is it going to cost? I can’t not recommend someone trying out FF 11. Even if the game today, is drastically different from the game I played, the game I loved years ago.

Even with the changes, they can’t take away some of the things I loved about 11. I’d like to think that even today, it’s worth checking out if you’ve never played it before.

      • Kobracon

40USD for the whole pack and a 30 day sub has kinda melted my desire…..

  • new_tradition

Friendly reminder that if you make online orders to double check your shipping info is complete and accurate.

I made an online order for Fire Emblem, and according to the tracking info, it got all the way to my condo before getting returned to sender. I forget the actual apt. number, so they couldn’t just leave it.

And then the game sold out from the place I ordered *again* -_-

    • That just sucks. Sorry to read about that happening to you. =/

      • new_tradition

Thanks. I guess making an order in the middle of the night while half sleepy probably wasn’t the best idea, lol.

I’m actually not super peeved-there’s options available to buy the game if I really want it, I just wanted to finally use that gift certificate since I kept forgetting about it.

        • I’m bad about ordering stuff really later at night, or early in the morning. Both usually = bad. I’m typically just not awake enough, which usually results in me forgetting about it. lol

    holy shit are you serious?!?!

my PS3 Disc Drive has stop working just now.

it was able to load Metal Gear Rising fine, but when i went to the Collections menu it went blank.

then after a soft reset it didn’t read the disc any more.

a similar thing happen last night when i was playing Uncharted 3 where in the middle of the online game it suddenly freezes.

tbh only Uncharted 2/3 and the Metal Gear Rising Demo were the ones that made my PS3 freeze for more than one time.

    other games rarely happens.

guess Uncharted is pushing the PS3 to it’s limits XD

    im using a PS3 from 2010 model CECH-2101A 120 GiB

the one that has two lights(blue indicator for a disc inside)

im fucking pissed right now, im only playing digital games like Fist of the North Star Ken’s Rage 2.

i might buy a new PS3, but i hate the super slim so i might have to buy the 320 GiB or a 160 GiB

then again space is not an issue since i also plan on buying a 1TB HDD for PS3

in other news i also became a PS Plus member for the first time for 3 months subscription(only used it once due to the free PS Plus from the April PSN outage) and backed up pretty much all of my saves on my PS3.

some saves can’t be copied all since they have that stupid warning about the 24 hour download thing so i have to upload some of them one by one,

love the PS Plus, surprised how many options open up to you once you became a subscriber.

maybe this is a calling that i should get a new PS3??

also any suggestions on how to fix this??

some say not to put the disc just after booting the PS3.

i’ll probably wait till tomorrow, and if it doesn’t work, i’ll go to my local store and fix it there.

    • z_merquise

Better send it for repair. Having a broken game console is really a scary thing. I hope that can be fixed. Lucky that you got a back up.

I really wish I can be a PS+ subscriber too but I don’t have a credit card. It’s tempting but it would make things complicated in my end so I decided not to get one.

      • You can’t just buy the PS Plus cards? That’s what I do. I had a bunch of ps plus trials to start, most of them I got with games I bought.

I decided to buy a year membership card a few months ago from one of my local stores. I had a gift certificate for the store, so I only had to pay about $25 for the yearly membership card.

        • z_merquise

They do? I never knew that, thanks!

I just hope our local game store sell those.

          • Yep. You just put in the code from the card on PSN. I hope that you can get one, if you want it. =)

      • PrinceHeir

actually the console itself is working(been able to play digital games for example)

        only discs are not working.

i’ll wait a few days to see how it turns out.

but it pisses me off it happens from the start of spring break!!

        the hell!!!

yeah, even though 1GiB is still too low for me(wish it had 5-10 GiB)

what about asian PSN cards like HK?

not sure if play asia accepts pessos as payment though.

        • z_merquise

So the problem in your PS3 is in the disc drive or maybe the lens.

Our game store here (Datablitz) recently started selling Asian PSN cards though it’s for Singapore and Hong Kong. Luckily, I created an Asian PSN account and set the address to Singapore.

          • PrinceHeir

            yeah could be :

hmm what kind of version of Rising do you have?

i don’t know what version of games they sell there :P

    • That sounds scary. I had my PS3 stop loading up a disc a few months back. I just turned my ps3 off, unplugged it, and gave it a few days off. I turned it back on a few days later and haven’t had any issues since. I think I have the same slim model. I try to sometimes blow into the vents, make sure dust and junk isn’t building up. I also try to keep my room cool, don’t want any hardware to get too hot.

I hope everything works out for you. If you are set on selling it, you could try Ebay, or look for good trade in deals or something towards a new one. You do have options.

I really like PS Plus, great service. I’ve gotten lots out of it.

      • PrinceHeir

okay will follow your advice thanks :D

ehh i don’t plan on selling it, i haven’t really sell any consoles tbh XD

i don’t know, could be the memories of the time i’ve played with it and such(then again that’s for saves for)

yeah PS Plus is great, im pissed at first that when i bought it i still wasn’t a subscribe even though they already gotten my money.

i had to log out for the status to be updated.

other than that gonna try some games here and such!!!

        • You don’t have to give it a ton of days. You could try it Tuesday and see how things are working.

          • PrinceHeir

okay will wait on tuesdsay ^^

though this gives me a reason to finish my research paper much early so there’s that!!

Even more-so than the post-PS4 announcement one. Hmmm, most intriguing

        • We had some pretty popular threads the night of the PS4 announcement. We even had a live comment section type of thing going on. It wasn’t really planned, but it worked out that way. I might have sorta started that, I forget lol. I’m going to try and do that again though, when possible.

        • Kurisu Makise

Looking forward to spending it with you guys ^^

Since Koei made a Fist of the North Star:Ken’s Rage video game Koei/Tecmo/Team Ninja may consider putting Kenshiro into DOA 5 but instead of using the polygon Kenshiro used in Fist of the North Star:Ken’s Rage Team Ninja could consider using a cel shaded Kenshiro so the character creates an authentic feeling of the 1984 anime version.Costume 2 could be the bearded Kenshiro.Team Ninja should never had considered putting Sarah Bryant & Pai Chan into DOA 5.Sega/AM2/Tecmo/Team Ninja should have in the near future considered releasing a crossover featuring the two franchises which would have been more suitable for the two mentioned Virtua Fighter characters to appear in.Kenshiro as a guest character in DOA 5 would have been a Brucie (WATA) Bonus (WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO)

So who’s been playing Atelier Ayesha so far? I hadn’t realized how…difficult it’d be to unlock the trophies. Goodness, in-game wise I had so much of the side quests/missions done and I hardly got to 8% until one play through where I just got a ton up front. Then I made the most noobish error on a quest. For some reason, if you just forget to do one little thing in this quest, it doesn’t count as complete; despite going through the motions story wise. I had to quickly google up to see if it was a glitch or if I was being stupid. Sure enough, just me being stupid. Now I’m searching dungeons much more carefully but I feel I wasted a good bit of the in-game days, despite having nearly maxed out my alchemy list in Year 2 (I’m a level…35 Alchemist I believe). Side quest wise, I almost unlocked a good chunk of the top half of the map. I hit the Level 30 wall for awhile until recently, now it’s smoother sailing from here. The battle system continues to impress too. Just when I felt I had my party mastered, another element comes into play to make battles even more fun. I’m honestly not sure what has me addicted more, synthesizing, battling or the side stories.

    • Elvick

I’ve read it’s super easy with a guide. I haven’t gotten that far.

      • Kurisu Makise

I really don’t want to play with a guide but that sounds right. I mean, a lot of it is kind of clock work but the difficulty comes in with time management, especially if you’re messing up important quests -_-; Either way, I hope you’re enjoying it like I am. I’ve just been sinking hours and hours into it. So I won’t spoil anything as I’m probably further along than most people due to the time sinks. Just keep your eye open in dungeons, I know I’m not the only person who made that mistake xD
