Metro: Last Light will be released under new publisher Deep Silver for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on May 14 in North America and May 17 in Europe, the company has announced.
“Since it has been made public that we took over the Metro franchise, the fans keep asking for a release date. Now we can finally announce when they will be able to get their hands on the game! We would like to thank all of the Metro fans for their patience. And we can assure them that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”, said Deep Silver international commercial manager Menno van der Bil.
Koch Media boss Klemens Kundratitz added: “The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary. We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves.”
Metro: Last Light is set in Moscow 2034, where underground tunnels have become the new home of the city’s former inhabitants after a nuclear war turned the world to rubble. As Artyom, players will fight for their survival against other factions within the tunnels, while looking for a doomsday device that could be the key to their victory.
