Sega gauging interest through Facebook likes and shares.

Sega might bring the PlayStation 3 version of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F to North America and Europe, it’s teased this morning.

On its official Facebook page, Sega posted the following image, asking that users “like & share if you support bringing Hatsune Miku Project Diva F for PS3 to North America and Europe.”

So then, Miku fans. What are you waiting for?!

Many of the comments are asking for a Vita release or Yakuza 5 lol…

  • Elfyra

I can’t believe what I just see, this is great news :D

  • generallynot

    Let’s hope not. Fingers crossed.

  • Tenshiken

    I’m not dreaming right?

  • Renzouri

Done and done~ If this ever becomes successful, I hope Japanese developers change their perspective in having their games localized to the West.

Also, if this is coming from SEGA, they should also have a similar poll for Valkyria Chronicles series…

    • They could do a PSN only release. That way, even Vita owners can play.

  • The game is import friendly. Still nice to know Sega still cares :)

  • DarthBrian

But I can’t like and share because I’m not on Facebook. >_<

    • CirnoTheStrongest

Just make a FB account for it?

      • DarthBrian

        No. Facebook sucks.
And, apparently, based on the response I’m getting from my friends who *are* on Facebook, that they don’t want to like it because they don’t want their Facebook friends to think they’re weird and perverted, Facebook is full of a bunch of liars. :p

  • Consider it done! OH YEAH!

    So wanna play it!

  • Haku_Luvs_You

I don’t have facebook D: Guess it’s time to start up, like, and then probably never use it again :p

    • CirnoTheStrongest

      Don’t forget to share!

  • vertical09

Created a Facebook just to like and share this~~ Can’t believe this is even considered being brought over!

  • Let’s hope it really comes over.

  • Sevyne

I’m glad to see Sega looking into the possibility, but I’m still quite disappointed that it isn’t the Vita version (or both). These games are a much better portable experience.

    Anyway, I still support this.

  • 3DBudgie

There’s a demo on the JP PSN if anyone is interested.

  • shogunknight

Hope this works, wont be happy to see what happened to valyria chronicles 3 happen again. Wait, would she sing in English???

    • tubers

Doubt it.. best expectation is to probably get full “subbed” songs and some “subbed” rabble and dialogues of Miku and the gang.

    • MosquitoLemon

Japanese vocaloids typically can’t sing in English because of the phonetic structure of English vs Japanese. In any case, the technology doesn’t allow for decent English voice synth because of the way syllables are structured.. they’ll always sound like crappy robots instead of extremely autotuned pop stars like the JP ones.

  • ShinAsura(新阿修羅)

Well that’s good for the overseas fans, mine’s shipping from Japan as we speak lol

  • Guest

Well they did have that Miku Toyota ad awhile back

  • Haku_Luvs_You

I was able to get Gameinformer to write an article and help spread the word :) Hopefully that gets more people to like.

  • Eclipse

Sounds great! There’s a lot of Vocaloid fans outside of Japan, so if SEGA handles this well, then I can definitely see this become a success. I already ordered myself a copy from Japan, but if this really is released over here, then I’ll buy another copy to show my support.

However, there’s no way in hell that I’m making a FB account, that site is a joke.

  • Budgiecat

    Do it!

Weirder games have made it over here from Japan

    (Muscle March)
    (Cho Aniki)
    (Katamari Dymacy)

  • new_tradition

I’ve never played any Vocaloid games, though I’d be interested in getting the game in English just to see more diverse gaming choices.

But it says “Hatsune Miku” in the game title, so is she the only singer in the game then?

    • MosquitoLemon

Nope, each Vocaloid ‘singer’ is a different product, and the Project Diva games include something like 6 or 7 of Crypton Future Media’s Japanese products, including the original Japanese vocaloids, Meiko and Kaito.

While the rhythm game portion of the game kind of sucks, the music video editor is incredible (you can import all of you own music, and there is tons of user generated content).

      • new_tradition

Kewl, thanks for the info. I’m actually really out of touch with the Vocaloid franchise. I just know it started off as a program and Hatsune Miku is super popular, lol.

        • MosquitoLemon

Yep, that’s literally all there is to it. I have no idea how the fandom got so big seeing as there’s no backstory or characterization (I mean, you can make of the characters what you will, there isn’t a standard).

  • tubers

Sega, don’t you dare cancel it and say you didn’t get enough support xD

It might do more harm that way :P

  • You should totally bring over Yakuza 5, and Yakuza 1&2 HD Collection, too. Depart this generation with a sexy, Japanese-flavored bang, Sega.

And get to work on Sonic Adventure 3 already! ;D

  • Why the hell would I not ‘like’ it?

    *Clicked ‘like’*

Oh and Sega… Bring in Yakuza 5 while you’re at it…

  • LordKaiser

What’s exactly is this? A voice generating program?

    • MosquitoLemon

A rhythm game/music video editor based on a voice generating program. Basically a company made a voice synth program that actually sounded good and they found a really effective way of marketing it (dancing anime girl plastered all over everything).

This game takes several vocaloids (the different voice products) and allows you to create rhythm (think crappy non-touch version of Ouendan/Band Brothers) games around their songs. The best part is that you can import user-created songs and stages, many of which are better than the commercially made ones.

  • Danikun

Everyone make a bunch of fake Facebook accounts and like and share it :o

  • PrinceHeir

wish Sega treated us Valkyria Chronicles and Shining Star, Yakuza fans like this .________.

  • fireemblembeast

Awesome news! And a least I don’t have to worry about it being only dubbed XD
Good thing I might get a job soon, because this year is really chock-full of great games!

  • Elvick

After trolling E3 with the Vita demo of Project Diva f, they should bring that over too. It’s the least they can do for being tools.

And since they did that, which is more ridiculous than anything I’ve ever heard. (having an E3 demo with no plans to localize something) Then I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up with a whole lotta nothing as well.

  • Hell Yhea XD

  • Kurisu Makise

“So then, Miku fans. What are you waiting for?!” the PS Vita ver as seen at E3.
