Namco Bandai has announced a pre-release Japanese beta for the PlayStation 3 version of Gundam Breaker. (The full game is also coming to PS Vita.)
The free beta will allow players to create their own Mobile Suit by combining various Gundam plastic model parts. It will include a tutorial mission, defense mission, boss battle against a (giant) Perfect Gundam, and a crack at the game’s customization and upgrade systems. After missions, which are received in the VR Hangar, players can gain parts and experience points, which can “version up” their OS.
A release date for the beta was not announced.
Outside of the beta announcement, Namco Bandai also revealed a new stage and three new Gundam for the retail release.
The new stage is called “Gundam Plastic Model Workshop.” Players will be able to fight on the desk where Gundam plastic models are created. You’ll see packages for plastic model versions of Zeta Gundam and other mecha, alongside various paint tubes and art materials.
New characters confirmed for Gundam Breaker include Master Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam G, Freedom Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and Heavy Arms from Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz.
