Devil Survivor 2

Devil Survivor 2: Break Record is in development for 3DS.

A sneak peek screening for the new TV anime Devil Survivor 2: The Animation included the surprise announcement, according to Twitter attendees.

The game will add new story content and characters. A proper reveal is scheduled for the March 28 issue of Weekly Famitsu.

Devil Survivor 2 was initially a DS title that launched July 2011 in Japan.

Thanks, Game Jouhou.

  • And I just bought it few weeks ago :(

  • Raiyu

I knew it was a good idea to wait.

  • Ghostlight should launch this version in Europe instead the Nintendo DS version… I hope they realize that this game can sell much better than Nintendo DS version :)

    • Yeah, I would much rather they scrapped the DS version now, and just concentrated on bringing us this updated one instead. I wonder how much work they already put into the DS one, though, and whether or not it’ll be easy to transfer the work they’ve already done on it into this new one… The fact we haven’t heard anything on the DS one, but we have now got a date for Overclocked, makes me think they may have known about this and put DS2 on hold.

Ahh, I just hope they can move across their work to the new one easily enough and give us that instead.

      • Well, DS and 3DS are both from Nintendo, and I suppose that they are very similar. I think that’s the reason why we see so many ports between both consoles, and I hope that it will be easy for Ghostlight to move across their work from the DS Version.

Judging by how absurdly long Ghostlight are taking to localize Devil Survivor Overclocked, I think that them taking care of this game for Europe isn’t exactly the best choice.

I think Nintendo is the one who is localizing Etrian Odyssey 4 in Europe and it’s releasing this spring and the American version released merely 5 days ago, why not them instead?

i knew there was gonna be a upgrade version(they mentioned it in New Year’s eve)

definitely getting this instead of the DS version!

    can’t wait!!!

  • Eclipse

Hell yes! I had a feeling they were going to do something similar like the first game’s Overclock version. That hint they made when they were giving announcements for the upcoming Anime kind of gave it away. ^_^

  • badly kept secret

  • Bacon

Anyone that knows atlus and there smt series, knows that there is always an enhanced version right around the corner.

Now I wont feel bad I only finished it once. I’ll get the other routes on 3DS :D

  • MightySpirit

I should of seen this announcement coming… But considering how much more advanced it already was compared to Devil Survivor 1, it didn’t even cross my mind that ATLUS would do this. I’m curious to see what type of content they specifically plan to add though. Either way, I’ll most likely get it for collector’s sake.

  • Devil Survivor 1 was good
never play Devil Survivor 2 yet so ill buy this one for sure :D

  • HeatPhoenix

Really Atlus, there’s games that DON’T need a 2.0 version in your backlog, like the ones you released 2-3 years ago. How about doing Nocturne, or Raidou? How about a movie for Raidou, anyway.

    • HeatPhoenix

2 years, actually, oops. Holy shit.

    • The localized Nocturne is actually the updated port.

      • HeatPhoenix

No? It’s more like a FES version. For the same console.

  • What’s up with Atlus and all these ports lately? Did Catherine nearly bankrupt them? Just show me ONE concept art from P5. Maybe tease a new Devil Summoner. Anything really, as long as I haven’t already played it.

    • HeatPhoenix

      Yes please.

  • Figured this would happen. Glad I waited.
