Supergiant-developed RPG due out in 2014.

Bastion developer Supergiant Games has announced its next project to be a sci-fi action RPG called Transistor.

“In Transistor, players assume the role of a young woman who gains control of a powerful weapon after a mysterious group of assailants nearly kills her with it,” said Supergiant’s Greg Kasavin in a blog post.

“Now she must fight from street to street against forces that will stop at nothing to recover the weapon. During the course of the adventure, players will piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as they pursue its former owners.”

The game is designed to “seamlessly integrate” fast-paced action with “thoughtful strategic planning” and “atmospheric storytelling.”

Transistor is due out in 2014 for undecided platforms.

Looks hype, I was pretty bitter about Bastion not working on my laptop

  • Wow…it looks fantastic.

    Vita version anyone?

    • HassanJamal

YES. Since Supergiant is done with their MS deal, i assume, we’ll see Transistor on more platforms this time, vita included too.

Has a similar style to Japanese RPGs, I’m definitely interested in this game! There haven’t been enough sci-fi based RPGs this generation. (I know there are some, I just want more)

I’ve heard great things about Bastion (and I’ve heard the OST-pretty awesome), though I don’t own a platform that can play that game, so if Transistor comes out on something I own, I’ll give it a look.

Hot DAMN! Always look forward to games from these guys. Bastion was an amazing experience. Can’t wait to see more from these guys. Now lets hope this also has an awesome black man with an awesome voice narrating everything you do :D

Hope it’s on something PlayStation, would love it on Vita, but I’d take it on PS3 (or PS4!).

I love what I’ve played of Bastion on Mac. Need to get back into it soon.
