Sequel on the way? Or perhaps a Wii U port?

Square Enix filed a trademark yesterday for Deus Ex: Human Defiance in Europe.

The name bears a similar title to the publisher’s 2011-launched Deus Ex: Human Revolution, developed by Eidos Montreal.

Perhaps a sequel is on the way? Or a port for Wii U?

Thanks, NeoGAF.

  • I’ll guess a sequel.

  • Raiyu

I still haven’t finished the first game, and probably won’t be able to till I build a new PC :(

    • shogunknight

It doesnt really need much specs out of the pc, it played fine on my previous 512mb dedicated laptop. You can also get it on your console too at a reduced price now

  • PrinceHeir

    fuck yes please!!!!

also full 3rd person camera please!!!!

    and more Jensen!!!!

“The project, according to the listing, is based upon an existing IP which is a “well known and respected action/adventure title, with elements of choice and stealth within the gameplay.”

this is sounding like Ground Zero tbh :)

Suddenly, some awesome news appears before me, awed. I jump up and down like a schoolgirl in the presence of her teen idol.

  • I think its a sequel to Human Revolution.

    • KurisuMakise

I’ll throw my vote into the sequel category. However are we going for the full sequel or that half step (aka side story)?

      • I’m going to say its a game for the Ipad or Android :(

  • A WiiU port is my best guess personally… As much as I don’t want to admit it…

  • Bloodios

Aw… but I want Deus Ex: No Longer Human instead…

  • Wii U port would be hilariously lame.

I’m hoping for a sequel. Having a new name like this sounds indicative of a sequel, to me.

  • DragonSix

    iOS game, I’m calling it.

  • I hope it’s a sequel. Human Revolution is amazing. I think it’s the first stealth game I played, playing without killing is so much fun. Too bad I triggered the alarm once but managed to playthrough on Hard difficulty without any casualties. Also hope it stars Adam Jensen again.

  • Simmsville

    Defiance comes after Revolution.
It clearly won’t be Jensen in the lead role, but I can imagine the sequel will focus on someone who was forced to have the upgrades put upon him, escaping out and then becoming the leader or a soldier of a rebellion group

    • PrinceHeir

ehh it’s still possible though with Adam Jensen.

      with NANOMACHINES!!!

Hnnnnnnngh… the excitement!! DE3 is one of the three first-person games from 2011 that I miraculously still play, and still love. And when I say ‘still play’, I mean up until recently – I only got around to the DLC back in December, and it was great to go back.

2012, meanwhile, gave us no games like that… I mean, I loved Journey, and The Walking Dead, and I thought Mass Effect 3 was great, but 2012 really didn’t shine compared to 2011.
