Enhanced Wii U port making the jump to multiplatform.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. An online Japanese retailer has posted a listing for the game, complete with a full description, which says it’s due out on April 4 for 7,140 yen in Japan.

The game was originally launched for Wii U late last year. It adds new features to the original Ninja Gaiden 3, including new ninja arts, weapons, playable characters Ayane, Momiji, and Kasumi, and gameplay improvements.

Thanks, Hachima Kikou.

Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement of “Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge plus” on PSVita~

    • LOL!

    • I wouldn’t be surprised, lol.

    • Elvick

      That’s what I’ll be waiting for. :3

    • Sevyne

      That’s when I’ll get it.

I’m with you on this one, tough mum \(^o^)/

And that’s why I won’t be purchasing the PS3 version, waiting for the enhanced Vita port instead. The first one is a stellar port and I have high hopes for S2+. Can’t wait for NGS3:RE+ ( ̄▽ ̄)

Took the words right out of my mouth.

  • Not surprising. But good news for myself. Heck, it’ll probably drop cheaper in price quicker than the Wii U version!

  • zangetsukakashi

    What about Sigma?

  • AuroraXIII

Does a retail listing from Rakuten actually mean this is guaranteed?

  • Shocker of the century :P

  • I knew it was coming. Glad I waited. Finally can play Kasumi :D

    • MrKappa

I think everyone knew this was coming giving TK’s track record. I’m glad I waited too and despite having a Wii U I didn’t even pick up that version.

  • InsaneChronos

    I lol’d.

  • Like every other NG games.
We just wait for it to come to next gen .

  • Give it to them for free! After what you gave them.. shame on you Team Ninja! I played the WiiU version day one and its an amazing game… give it to them for free… this prob has to do with the WiiUs poor sales..maybe it was always the plan as usual.

Just started Sigma 1 on Vita.

I love it so much I’m planning on picking up Sigma 1 and 2 for PS3.

  • ShinAsura

    Yay Kasumi

  • syaznifaiq

This is a true ninja game .dual katana is beyond awesome. Kudos to TN

I have my doubts. Nintendo IS the publisher for this particular version of the game and exclusive to Wii U (so far). If this is really true then I think they’ll change the name and tweak the game a bit to separate it from Razor’s Edge.

  • Hm, really makes you think Bayonetta 2 could end up coming to PS3/360 too (or perhaps PS4/720 by the time the possibility arises)… Unless Nintendo really is a lot more involved with that project than simply being publisher.

  • For now, I won’t believe it until it’s official… Nintendo is the publisher of this version and I’m having a hard time believing that this version will go multiplaform…

NG2 was published by Microsoft and came to Sony consoles.

      • It’s Nintendo this time and could be a different story… We should wait and see if this is official or not….

This will be the first time 360 players will get an enhanced port of a Ninja Gaiden game.

The game I have played most on my Wii U has been Ninja Gaiden 3 – Razor’s Edge. I think nearly 100 hours worth of playing that… don’t think I will be jumping to the PS3 version but if a year from now they bring it to PS-Vita, I might give it another go.

  • For those hoping that this means Bayonetta 2 will go multiplatform, here I am to rain on your parade! Nintendo only published Razor’s Edge outside of Japan. Tecmo-Koei published it in Japan, meaning they can do whatever they want with it. This becomes more apparent with the lack of any mention of Nintendo on the games title screen and credits sequence, as well as the Nintendo logo having a “Distributed By” preceding it on the Gamepad screen during boot up.

Given that Nintendo is actually funding development of Bayonetta 2, and that they’re the publisher for the game worldwide, I think we can expect that one to remain a Wii U exclusive. Though in the meantime, I’d expect the 360/PS3 Razor’s Edge port to be renamed “Sigma 3”, at least outside of Japan.

It can also mean that we never get this version of Ninja Gaiden 3 (even renamed as Sigma) in the West.

Look at Samurai Warriors 3 / 3Z for example, it’s the same scenario.

  • Budgiecat

    knew it.

Now just localize Nobunaga’s Ambition Online for PS3, Zill O’ll Infinite Plus for PSP, Fab Style for 3DS/NDS and give us disc versions of the recent Warriors games…

  • Eclipse

Sweet, I was hoping this would be available for the PS3.
It’ll be worth getting it just for playable Kasumi~!
