3DS version adds new story chapters and many Digimon.

The latest issue of V-Jump reveals Digimon World Re: Digitize Decode, an enhanced port of last year’s PSP original, coming to 3DS this year in Japan.

The game, the fourth title in the Digimon 15th anniversary project, will add many new Digimon, including X-Antibody Digimon like Omnimon X-Antibody and Gallantmon X-Antibody, and two new story chapters, “The Lamentable X-Antibody” and “The Scheming Demon King.”

Players will also have a new hidden ability called “Decode.” You’ll be able to draw out the power of your Digimon and increase their Decode Levels by training them, making them more powerful.

Thanks, Amaebi.

Had to be on 3DS. Now I can’t import it. >_<

Because there's no way this is getting localized. T_T

With Nintendo pushing Japanese games lately(even though this is the other MON series) and it being on the 3DS, I’d say it has a bit more of a chance than the PSP ever did.

      • Solomon_Kano

Except I don’t see Nintendo’s push benefitting a Pokemon competitor. Of all the games they might help come to market, this won’t be one.

On the brighter side, Sal makes an excellent point in noting Digimon’s return to US TV this year.

        • as long as its not released at da same time as da new Pokemon gamez, i think it would benefit them to help localize it actually.

          • Solomon_Kano

Perhaps. One way or another, I think Namdai should be willing now that there’ll be a TV show to drive more interest in the brand in the US soon.

Pokemon is never in any fear of competitors. Also, Monster Farm DS got localized after 3 years on the DS and there’s some weird Denpa Men game on the N Store that’s kinda Pokemonish…

and don’t forget the Dragon Quest games…

          • Solomon_Kano

Did Nintendo publish that Monster Farm game? I’ve never heard of it.

I know Pokemon doesn’t need to worry about the competition, but I can’t see Nintendo helping to publish a competitor either way. Even when Ninty helps with DQ, they don’t push the DQ Monsters games. They only helped with IX.

I felt the same way about Project X Zone and now look…

The only game I know for sure is not getting localized is Super Robot Taisen UX

    • Actually, I think the possibility of this being localized is probably the highest for a Digimon game in a while.

For one, it’s a 3DS game: a system that’s not considered a dead market in the U.S. Two, interest for the series among young boys in the west will likely rise soon, given that Digimon Xros Wars will be airing on Nickelodeon this year. And three, Saban Brands, who’ve acquired the anime, have laid out plans for a “digitastic mass media campaign for the new series, and plan on having “ongoing PR support” and “robust social media outreach to connect fans” to “generate buzz and brand awareness among boys.” They also say they’ll be launching “toys, digital games and trading cards” through a “powerful merchandising program.”

So there could be hope yet.

      • KurisuMakise

Precisely what Digimon needed. Saban seems to be on a roll again.

  • Anime10121

Hope this comes to the west, because it being on the 3DS increases the chance of it being localized. Unfortunately PSP games dont make sense in the west, but maybe 3DS games will fare a bit better.

    • Budgiecat

Hey, Aksys is localizing that Keiji Inafune Otome (girls romance) game for PSP so it’s still not dead yet lol

    • MrKappa

3DS or PSP doesn’t seem to matter when Namco is behind the game. Project X Zone is their one good deed for the year. 3DS just means we can’t import now.

  • Hope it comes out in NA and EU. If not, then I’m not happy about this being on the 3DS. Region locked bullshit for the win.

Would kill me if it was released in EU and not NA. Then it being in English wouldn’t matter, because Nintendo is retarded. I’m not buying a 3DS from another country just to play games.

  • Claude

Oh my. Maybe they plan on localizing this one after all.

  • Raiyu

I really hope this one gets localized! Please Namco

  • BlueBerryShadow
