Visuals seeing a "complete graphical overhaul," says Amazon.

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut will have “a new branching ending” in addition to over 100 other improvements, an Amazon product listing has revealed.

A “brand new scenario at the beginning and end of the story” is also being added, straight from the mind of director Hidetaka “Swery65” Suehiro.

Players will have access to a new item, as well—an in-game camera that lets you take snapshots as you play.

Publisher Rising Star Games previously promised a visual improvement for The Director’s Cut. According to Amazon, it’s a “complete graphical overhaul.”

Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut has not yet been dated. But Amazon says it’s due out for PlayStation 3 on April 30 for $39.99.

Given that I tremendously like both Twin Peaks and niche games from Japan, I assume that I will be able to get past the flaws of the game. The game seems to have a sincere cult following, so hopefully this re-release will fix some of the supposed clunkiness of the game.

I played the Japanese version very briefly (Red Seeds Profile) in the past, and found at least the story to be intriguing, so I will be picking this one up as soon as it is offered.

    I still don’t trust Jim Sterling though…
