Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk

Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk will launch in Europe on March 8, publisher Tecmo Koei has announced.

The RPG, developed by Gust Corporation, follows the story of Ayesha Altugle, a girl who lives alone in a workshop and supports herself by making and selling medicine, ever since her grandfather died and younger sister went missing years ago. As the game opens, Ayesha discovers her sister is alive somewhere in the world, and devotes herself to finding her.

The game features (as detailed by Tecmo Koei):

  • New story and cast of characters: Ayesha’s mission is to find her younger sister, Nio, who went missing after she left home to gather medicinal ingredients, and Ayesha will be supported and helped by those already close to her, as well as new friends she’ll meet along the way. This new setting will embrace all the Japanese RPG fans who are looking for a new kind of alchemy RPG!
  • Keep a diary to delve deeper into the story: The new Diary System allows the player to keep a log of Ayesha’s activities. Keeping up with the diary, Ayesha will be able to gain more recipes, bonus stats, and items. Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk does not have any time restriction on each mission; instead, every mission will be connected and will help determine your success in finding Ayesha’s younger sister.
  • Turn-based battle system: Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk features a turn-based battle system that emphasizes the importance of character positioning and distance from the enemies. Support and Assist attacks among your party will play a big role in each battle. Place your party members wisely and strategize your way to victory!
  • Back Attacks and unique character skills: Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk has an updated battle system that allows players to move behind the enemy; attack them from the rear to score critical hits! Get familiar with the special skills and abilities of each character to maximize your battle experience!
  • Alchemy gets even more exciting by focusing on the process: Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk features an updated synthesis system where Ayesha will learn special alchemy skills that she can use to fine-tune the details of the items that she synthesizes for more desirable results!

The game will also feature both English and Japanese voices. Despite Tecmo Koei’s Facebook post, Atelier Ayesha will not feature dual audio in Europe, the publisher has confirmed.

        • Pyrofrost

And up-votes to go around ^_^

    • Updated the post with that info.

      • Update: Despite what Tecmo Koei EU’s Twitter says, we have just received a note from the developer that Atelier Ayesha will not have dual audio for the EU release. We will have more information about Atelier Ayesha’s US release later today.

Might want to update that info again, got ths off Siliconera.

        • Thanks for that.

U.S. announcement should be coming soon. Just saw that they’ve added an Atelier Ayesha folder on their press FTP. Grabbed some character artwork not included in the European announcement this morning and added it to the gallery.

    Holy shit, 1080p

Rare to see PS3 games with that resolution

    • Won’t be hard with those textures.

    • Bloodios

After looking at the images, I am most certain that the game isn’t natively rendered at 1080p. But of course, it might very well be a supported output resolution (but I don’t recommend using it, as the PS3’s upscaling method is a little dodgy…)

      • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Got no issues with 1080p upscaling. But then I’m using a 24″ PC monitor. It might look dodgy on a 40″+ TV set.

  • EspadaKiller

Oh yes, Japanese VO as well!

  • Danny Kriegbaum Laursen

Hope they will release a Limited Edition of this game and that DLC will be release in Scandinavia and Polen

  • LordKaiser

Please be on Physical release in America!

  • Hell yeah for another English translated JRPG game.

  • Ramza Beoulve

cant wait to add it to the party

  • If NISA is localizing this and TK publishing this in Europe, wouldn’t the no Jap dub applied to the US as well? Since NISA confirms that Europe won’t get Jap dub, it would be weird if the US version does have it…

  • Eclipse

I really hope that the North American release will have dual-audio…
Now that I think about it, I really should have imported a JP copy.

  • new_tradition

Is this a stand alone game? I’m aware of the series, but I never played any of them. I heard some games are connected, but some aren’t..?

  • PrashT

or maybe that single audio track is original Japanese audio only……..

they only said “will not feature dual audio”
but never said it will dub or original Jap audio

  • margherita mastropaolo

i’ll get this on day one

  • PrashT

so far, the informations for this mater are so confusing
which is true and which is false anyway?
will it english only as siliconera said or it will dual audio as TK tweet ????

  • Dean Winchester

    Looking forward to this.
I hope they do a nice CE bundle to go with my Qoga, Rarona, and Totori CE’s.
