  • Final mix always had english voice acting, anyway still buying the Japanese version if i get inpatient

    • Indeed. But considering one of the game’s main features was the new Japanese voice acting, it was uncertain whether the English voices would return. Now it’s confirmed you can switch between the two.

      • Yeah that will be cool and do you know when the jump festa trailer comes out, A demo video or live stream?

  • Physics

    Japanese version it is then!

  • DesmaX

No trophies for 358/2 Days then… Oh well, if this has english voices, it will come to the west, no worries

    • Considering that it’s been reduced to what seems to be a two-hour movie of cutscenes, what would the point of trophies?

      • DesmaX

Well… There’ visual novels with trophies on the PS3…

        • Bloodios

I assume those are rewarded for selecting certain choices or unlocking different routes and endings, not just for sitting back and watching cutscenes?

          • DesmaX

            Well… Hm…

Can you really blame a man for wanting some easy trophies?

            • Bloodios

*Gasp* Shame on you, young man!
Seriously though, for this game to have trophies wouldn’t be all that strange though, seeing that I have seen plenty of pointless trophies before.

          • Budgiecat

probably the latter considering how lazy this gen has become

    • xMCXx

Final Mix also had English voices and didn’t come to the west.
      Just saiyan…

  • Bloodios

So, will the scene where Riku first arrives at Hollow Bastion have English voice too or will it remain… silent when we choose English as the spoken language?

  • rockman29

They can’t even put KH and KH2 on one disc, frigging lame SE like usual.

  • I wonder what they’d call the next HD remake. I mean, they said they’d be doing 2.5, but if it included BBS, it wouldn’t make much sense to call it that given the timeline.

    In order:

    Birth By Sleep
    Kingdom Hearts
    Chain of Memories
    358/2 Days
    Kingdom Hearts II
    Dream Drop Distance

    • DesmaX

      KH 2-2HD

    • KurisuMakise

If BBS HAS to be in 2.5 then it’d be KH 2.5+0. Though it seems like it’d be better to just release BBS on it’s own or wait for Volume 2 to release, then make a Kingdom Hearts 0 collection. This way, 2.5 is really KH2 FM, Coded Cutscenes and Dream Drop Distance. Perfect way to lead into KH3.

    • LordKaiser

But still it will aweome it Birth by Sleep would be included on 2.5 HD remix regardless of continuity.

      • I’m pretty sure that’ll be the case.. I don’t see why they’d get that technical about it

  • AzuNo17

    *Instant Import readied*

  • Still not import friendly with all the menus being in kanji.

    • DarthBrian

That’s what the internet is for.

      • That makes it not a fun experience at all. I can just see trying to play 30 minutes of a game and looking on the web for over an hour just to figure out what to do. I’ll pass.

  • I really hope this means a western release is ready to be announced. I want this HD remix a lot.

  • DarthBrian

    Import ahoy!

  • bring it over an’ my money iz yers.

  • KingOptimusOrigins111

Oh God, I hope this collection comes to America.

  • TimesTicking

    English voice option?
I might as well import this game if I don’t hear an announcement coming to the US.

  • Ramza Beoulve

    import why wait

  • epy

Wanna bet that the localized version will not have an option for japanese voices? I want to lose btw.

  • LordKaiser

Impatient people… I’ll wait till 2.5 HD remix is announced. I rather have all of them in 1 package when it gets localized in the west.

    • it will probably KH2FM+ BBSFM and cut scenes from Re: Coded

    • Anime10121

Still not gonna be all of them in one package. 2.5 will consist of the other titles in the series (2FM, BBSFM, and either Coded or 3D), it still wont include 1 or CoM.

      • LordKaiser

There I finished my paragraph. I’m not talking about JP releases.

  • If this has English subs to choose, I would have imported it in a heartbeat…

    • considering it’s da Japanese release……why would it have that?

      • dusk

Final Mix versions are akin to the International Versions of the older Final Fantasy games, which usually included extras bosses + tweaks/bugfix + English version of the game (i.e FFX).

However, even though it says English voice is available, take note that all the new scenes are not dubbed, only subtitled in Japanese. As I recall, the extra boss fight did not have any voices (Japanese or English) for the boss, but Sora’s dialogues were dubbed in English by re-using lines that he had previously spoken in the game so far. Just simple lines like “Goofy!” or “Who are you?”, though.

      • I find it hard to believe your reasoning as they have the time to include the English dub in their Japanese release… Why not add in the English subs while they’re at it?

        • …..ya make a valid point, woz gonna say dat dey only did dat sense dey had da filez…….but dat also applies to english subs……ya got me there humie.

  • new_tradition

Final Mix already had English VA in the first place, so not too surprising. Getting the Japanese option would be nice in turn for us, but aside from it being the principle of the matter, I don’t care too much if we didn’t get the option.

Voice acting has come a long way in the last 10 years in my opinion, and S-E especially has great VA work in their games.

  • zakou

Hope it get’s released here /US/EU weird, maybe im wrong but i think this is the first game or rpg to be released in japan with both japanese and english voices without english subs o,o or menus, so weird. xD

It’s like Square Enix thought of the most annoying way to troll their fanbase xD by adding “English voices” to a Japanese game not yet announced to be released outside of Japan,

  • EspadaKiller

    Gonna get them all!

  • Wait for eng., but if it’s take too much time, buy japan version any way/

  • PrinceHeir

wow so the japanese get’s to experience all of the content plus dual audio with bonuses?!?!

damn it we better get the same treatment Square Enix!!!!!

  • If it doesnt come out here, Im going to import.

  • Budgiecat

Why an English voice option for Final Mix but not for Re: Chain of Memories?

    • Anime10121

Because Final Mix already had English Voices in the original release. For Re: CoM, they’d have to actually go in and add the voices from the western version, though, considering how much they already are changing in the HD Final Mix version (camera control, Japanese voices, etc.) You’d think they’d go ahead and put it in CoM too.

  • rujfu

Shut up and take my money!

  • Now you can enjoy even more heartache while being able to understand what they’re saying and scrolling through your foreign menus!

    *thumbs up*

    • And by “heartache”, I mean it’s just frustrating to listen to it in English even after not hearing about a localization for this yet. Hearing it in English while still scrolling through Japanese menus is just pouring salt into the wound, lol. I’d just keep everything in Japanese, personally.

  • Hopefully that image isn’t a 50% scaled down screen, otherwise its not going to be running at native 720p.

  • LordKaiser

I have faith that this collections will come to the west. My guess is that they will release 1.5 and 2.5 in the west on a single package so we have to wait for 2.5 release. To those impatient people that want to import, will you buy it again if we get a Euro and Amercan release? If not then you’re responsible for JRPGs dying in the west.

  • melethor

hi i am from Germany and if the game does not appear in the midwest, I would consider a huge frechheit since said time was of the west not to be discriminated against. We in Germany had not even the Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories let alone the final mix editions that are not even once appeared in the United States and because the probably the last chance is this title at all to get to Germany I find that the simple a giant insolence is.

  • Kairi A

Does anyone who imported the game know how to enable the english dub option if it really does exist? There doesnt seem to be an option to choose it in the new game selection menu
