Atlus has announced God Mode, a new third-person shooter in development at Old School Games in collaboration with Saber Interactive due out in early 2013 for PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade, and PC.
In God Mode, players take on the role of the descendant of an ancient god who is turned mortal after his family is banished from Mount Olympus. To seek redemption and claim their place, players must battle through the Maze of Hades in the underworld.
The game will offer “non-linear gameplay, fast and frantic shooting,” and “hordes of on-screen enemies.” In addition to the single-player campaign, the game will offer online and offline (LAN-only) co-op play for up to four players.
Players will be able to fully customize their character’s appearance and equipment, have access to over 11 different weapons, and make use of a special ability fueled by Rage, which is gathered by amassing kills. Players will be abale to choose from several different upgradable powers that range from offensive to defensive to support skills. In-game modifiers known as “Test of Faith” will allow gameplay alterations on the fly to make no two matches the same.
God Mode will cost $9.99 when it launches.
