Xillia sold 525.605 Units in the first week. Still a strong number for a sequel, but it also shows that not everyone was happy with Xillia.

Vita… and there are no bigsellers in the near future to save the system.

  • Neo Lucifer

It doesnt show much about Xillia imo . Tales of” direct sequels traditionally sell less

  • InsaneChronos

The Vita needs to die now. Hope Sony will focus on the home consoles.

    • usagi_san

Harsh thing to say, don’t you think?

      • InsaneChronos

Harsh, but right. The Vita is a failure and the biggest Sony mistake since $599 price tag.

        • YangTerlupakan

lol……. vita price is around $300, bro!!!! $500 is bundle version price

          • InsaneChronos

I was talking about the PS3 price tag…

            • YangTerlupakan

              oh i am sorry

            • don’t you remenber about the ps3’s first 2-3 years, yeah… everyone said the ps3 was a dead console to…

    • Noctionus

So… do you have a Vita?. If no then that’s the problem.

      • InsaneChronos

No, I don’t, but I will. There is plenty of interesting games on the platform. So?

    • GetOffMy_Lawn

      It’s not even a year old…
Remember how rough the 3DS launch was? Now 3DS is thriving, and that’s because Nintendo gave it attention as opposed to their home console.
If anything Sony needs to stop focusing so much on the PS3, and focus more heavily on the Vita.

      • InsaneChronos

The 3DS wasn’t in such bad state. And please, refrain from the 3DS and the Vita comparison. The Vita is not from Nintendo, so it’ll never be like the 3DS.

        • GetOffMy_Lawn

The 3DS is Vita’s direct competitor. There will be comparisons between them, like it or not.

    • FaithlessMr

We really could do without fanboy-like, flamebaitish comments such as this one (and the followup comment you posted as a reply to GerOffMy_Lawn which is even a more obvious attempt at trolling and flamebaiting.

We’re okay with you not liking Sony, but please keep in mind such comments are just empty affirmations that bring nothing of importance to what could be a healthy discussion. As in, please put some more thought into your arguments, other than simply saying “something is bad because it is”.

      • InsaneChronos

Sorry, but I guess you misunderstood what I meant. I don’t like the Vita, not Sony. I don’t like that Sony is wasting resources on useless things. It would be better if Sony will make Wild Arms 6 for the PS3 or sponsor remake of Final Fantasy 7 instead of trying to catch up with Nintendo, wouldn’t it? I don’t get the idea of trying to conquer what is cannot be conquered (i.e. the portable market). Anyways, I’m sorry for being rude.

    • It’s alright to state a more or less dislike on a particular thing but it would be nice to state a reason as it would save someone and space to ask why…

Vita is just like the PS3 when it was first released… High priced(according to today’s gamers) and low software offerings at the beginning and now things are different… I say give it some time, around 1 or 2 years before coming into a conclusion…

  • Wing Beelezemon

Less than Xillia in its first week, but I still see it as a good number,
considering that they expect to sell 650.000 before the end of the
fiscal year, and are already more than half. Good reason to take a risk
and bring it to the West :)

  • DarthBrian

PS2 back to its rightful spot over the 360. :p

  • MrKappa

An amazing turn out for ToX2 and somehow Okami HD did really well too. Sega needs to get on getting that Yakuza collection over here pronto though.

  • DichaTesoro

Didn’t Okami sell bad in Japan the first time around? It’s a really good game so it’s nice that it is getting attention this time around.

  • FaithlessMr

No big surprises on the top spot. As others have pointed out, direct tales of sequels usually don’t sell as much as the original games. Not to mention Xillia was the first original HD tales of title releasing in Japan (Graces F was a port), and it was released as part of the series 15th year celebration, which definitely bumped sales up a little bit.

Anyway, I’m still pleasently surprised to see Bravely’s Default performance. It latched on to the top 10 and it just isn’t going anywhere it seems. I’m thrilled to see it go like this. But, as expected, Project X Zone and Toki to Towa are nowhere to be seen on that list now.

  • fireemblembeast

I like Ludger in that screenshot. :)
Woah, as expected, its sales [Xillia 2’s] are on a different league than the others on the list.

  • The portable dominance in Japan continues. If Xillia 2 has been on the 3DS or PSP, I truly believe it would have matched if not sold more than the first game.

I don’t think this is really going to change anytime soon. I’ll say this, the future of gaming is cloudy, it’s tough to tell where things are headed.

  • KingOptimusOrigins111

PS3 software is doing good. Sony needs to hurry up and announce games for the PS Vita.
