Nintendo has announced a price drop for its 2006-launched Wii console ahead of the 2012 holiday season. Beginning October 28, the console will be available for $130 in a new bundle, including a black Wii console, Wii Remote Plus, and Nunchuck, and both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort on a single game disc. It will replace the current black bundle that comes with New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
“Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”
Nintendo’s next generation console, Wii U, will launch on November 18.
