Capcom came to Comic-Con in New York today not without surprises. During a panel today, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono announced Darkstalkers Ressurection, a compilation featuring Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge and Darkstalkers 3, due for PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade in early 2013 for $14.99.
Both games will be enhanced with high-definition graphical filtering with multiple viewing options, GGPO-enabled online play (which promises a “virtually lag-free fighting game experience,” a system upgraded from that of Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, and upgraded matchmaking with additional options), replay sharing, Spectator Mode, in-game achievements, Challenge/Tutorial mode, and an unlockable vault filled with concept art, videos, and more.
Prior to the announcement, Ono played a clip showing Darkstalkers characters Lord Raptor and Demitri in battle, with the text “Darkstalkers Are Not Dead” on-screen. According to Ono, this is step one in getting a new Darkstalkers game made.
