Evolution Studios the new home of Sony's futuristic racer?

Sony’s WipEout franchise, which was once in the hands of the now-closed SCE Studio Liverpool, has been handed to MotorStorm developer Evolution Studios, according to an MCV report

This morning, a tweet from the official WipEout 2048 Twitter account – which read “WE. ARE. ALIVE.” – suggested Studio Liverpool was rising for a resurrection. However, an update posted on the game’s Facebook later seemed to clarify the update was in reference to the WipEout franchise, rather than the studio itself.

We’ll shoot Sony an e-mail.

Update 5:53 p.m.: Sony has said it does not comment on rumors and speculation.

  • That would be interesting. At least the series is still alive for now, I just hope that anyone who gets in charge, can deliver a great experience

Evolution Studios make crap games. -__-

    RIP WipEout.

Evolution doesn’t make crap games. Motorstorm is awesome you just suck at them. -_-

MotorStorm are the most mediocre racers I’ve ever played.

They just don’t compare to WipEout.

It is not mediocre have you even played them. What makes it so mediocre to you?

Pacific Rift came bundled with my PS3, and my brother bought Apocalypse. Just read a review if you’re so curious about its mediocrity:

Not all of us are slaves to reviews and form our own opinions. He also asked what YOU thought was mediocre, not what someone else thought.

That said, I still don’t like the idea of someone else working on WipEout.

Every aspect of the series failed to impress me. Especially the gameplay and floaty driving physics. It’s just no fun to play.

Only redeeming factor is the variety of vehicles.

      • The Motorstorm titles are really underwhelming to be honest.

  • I think Evolution Studios would be more suited to make a ROLLCAGE sequel.
