Capcom has announced Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U and 3DS. It will launch in Japan on December 8, and across North America and Europe in March 2013.

The game will make use of both platforms’ touch screens to allow players quick access to in-game books, weapons, field maps, and mini-games. Capcom’s MT Framework engine will power the game’s “high quality graphics.” It promises to be the series'”most expansive offering to date,” with “many challenging monsters and over 200 quests.” On 3DS, players can exchange a guild card containing all of their “hunter’s information” with others via StreetPass.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will also feature four-player local play between 3DS and Wii U users. Players with both platforms can play at home on the big screen, and continue their progress on the move with the 3DS version.
