Deep Silver lifted the lid on Sacred 3, its latest entry in its popular action RPG series, at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle today.
The game follows a group of heroes after the Heart of Ancaria, which is said to allow its user to decide the fate of the world, before Zane Ashen, ruler of the corrupt Ashen Empire, obtains it for his own use.
Up to four players can play together in a “unique and engaging” co-op mode in which they will battle the Imperial aggressors. Players can choose between several character classes, including the Safiri Warrior and Ancarian Lancer, and choose their own combat arts, perks, and equipment.
The game world promises to be a “colorful and varied” one filled with “rich mythology and diverse regions and climates.” Many environments should be familiar to fans of the series, such as the Castle Braverock, which is now in ruins. Bosses are said to be “impressive” and treasures “fabled.”
