Resident Evil 6 will make use of a new free web service that tracks and visually represents “all of the key-in game stats” for players around the world, Capcom has announced at Gamescom. It’s called ResidentEvil.net.
The website will allow players to receive notifications on Facebook, Twitter, or Capcom-Unity when friends have beaten, for example, your latest score on “Mercenaries” mode, and allow gamers to connect and compete worldwide in “specially organized events.”
Also showcased at Gamescom was a new portion of gameplay from Jake Muller’s campaign. In the clip, we see Jake, the son of Albert Wesker, and Sherry Birkin, cornered in a mountain shack, using the best of their fire arms and hand-to-hand combat to best the menacing J’avo. See that in action below.

If you’re attending Gamescom this week, you will be able to try out three missions, one from Leon Kennedy, one from Chris Redfield, and another from Jake Muller’s campaign.
