The PlayStation 3 version of Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, which we’re calling Hot Shots Golf 6 for short (in light of its Japanese name Minna no Golf 6), supports “full HD” for the first time in the series, this week’s Famitsu confirms. Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, which was the franchise’s first high-definition entry, supported up to 720p. We’re assuming that means World Invitational supports up to 1080p at native resolution. Most consider that “full HD,” at least.
The PlayStation 3 game will include additional content, originally released for the PlayStation Vita version as DLC, on the disc. This includes characters Erica and Gloria, and courses Sakura Country Club and the Mar Cielo Golf Course. It will also add two new game modes. In “Slot Mode,” there are two strikes in the bunker, plus elements like the slot which have advantages and disadvantages. (Not keen on golf terms.) In “Minna no Short Course,” you’ll play nothing but courses comprised of short holes.
Other bits include:
- Condition changes for obtaining trophies.
- Up to four people can play together offline.
- PlayStation Move support.
- Lobbies, Real Tournaments, Rankings, Daily National Conventions, and cross-play with PlayStation Vita users.
World Invitational was announced for PlayStation 3 in this week’s Famitsu. Read our initial report here. The game will launch in Japan on November 22.
Thanks, Sinobi.
