Developed simultaneously alongside console versions.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will come to PC alongside PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Konami has announced at Gamescom.

The PC version is being simultaneously developed by Mercury Steam, who are also creating the console versions. The game itself features “all-new storyline, a larger cast of characters, huge open world environments and breath-taking visuals,” delivered via Mercury Engine 2.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow successfully rebooted the franchise but now we want to go further and exceed people’s expectations on what to expect from the sequel,” said Dave Cox, producer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. “This new game tells a much broader tale and one that spans centuries. It is a game that pushes whatever format it is on to the absolute limit, and we are delighted that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2’s rich blend of first-class fighting, deep exploration and rich storytelling are set to delight and enthrall PC users, too. There’s a darkness coming and with our new game engine, we hope to deliver something truly special across multiple formats that will set new standards for action adventure games.”

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is due next year.

it is needed to understand the story.

You mean the PC version, right ?. Maybe the PC version need “previously background story” like Mass Effect 2 on PS3 for better storyline explanation and cover the plot holes.

    PS3 or PC?

    Decisions, decisions!

Choose PS3 if you are tropy hunter and Blu-ray collector.
Choose PC if you like more precise visual (if there are DX 11 support tho).

As long it’s still enjoyable and you like it, it didn’t matter whatever platform you choose.

    •  Buy the PC version to support PC gaming.

  • Of course PS3 version for me, my PC can’t even play browser game properly.

I hope texture moders can crack this puppy up.
