Sega confirmed during Sonic Boom 2012 this weekend that it is planning a high-definition update of Sonic Adventure 2 for PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE Arcade.
The game, which first introduced Sonic’s darker counterpart Shadow the Hedgehog will feature updated graphics, leaderboards, achievement/trophy support, and more, according to Sega. Players will explore two storylines from the perspectives of heroes (Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles) and villains (Shadow, Dr. Eggman, and Rogue). It was originally released for Dreamcast in 2001.
