Bravely Default: Job System, Party Chat, and e-Store Collector’s Pack
Would you spend $164 on this limited edition?A Dengeki Online preview has shared new details on Bravely Default: Flying Fairy‘s job system.
The game offers a job system similar to Super Nintendo‘s Final Fantasy V, but with the added concept of cost.
Each job has its own level, with 10 being the cap. You could be a level 10 Knight, but only a level 1 Thief, for example. Players can level up their jobs using Job Points, or JP, acquired by defeating enemies in battle. Judging by new screenshots published on Dengeki’s post, there are a total of 24 jobs.
During battle, players can make use of two types of abilities: “Job Commands” and “Support Abilities.” Job Commands include your standard attacks and magic, and Support Abilities are always active effects like a Knight’s “Protect,” or “HP10% Up.”
Players can customize their Job Commands learned in one job to be used in another. For example, a Knight would be able to use a White Mage’s white magic. Support Abilities can also be used in separate jobs. Each ability, however, has a “cost,” whose limit you must stay within. (Three HP10% Ups cost 3 points, for example.)
It was also revealed the game will have a “Party Chat” system, which allows Tiz, Agnes, and company to kick off a discussion by pressing the “Y” button whenever it appears at the bottom left of the screen. If you’ve ever played a Tales series game, it’s similar to the franchise’s skits.
Separate from the Dengeki preview, Square Enix revealed Bravely Default: Flying Fairy‘s super sexy e-Store Collector’s Pack. For 12,800 yen, it includes a copy of the game, the original soundtrack (limited edition), an art album, original protect case for your 3DS, and a giant AR poster.
Bravely Default is due for 3DS in Japan on October 11.
