Naughty Dog's latest due next year.

Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us will not make it out in 2012, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has said.

“We are not ready to talk about 2013. But some of the games we showed like God of War and The Last of Us are not coming out this year,” Yoshida told VG247.

“We will talk more about what our line-up of games will be like in 2013. PS Vita we just launched. It’s been just four months.

“It’s its second year next year; it’s a really crucial year for us so we will continue to invest in making games from our first party studio standpoint, and at the same time, we would like to see more publishers do games like Assassin’s Creed III Liberation; that is fantastic.”

Neither Naughty Dog or Sony has ever tied a release date to the title, however, a late 2012 or early 2013 release has been suggested. We can rule out the former, at least.

I’d like to play this as early as possible, but I’m okay with a 2013 release, I have lots of games to play on my backlog :P

  • I just hope that the game will not be delayed like The Last Guardian or Final Fantasy Versus XIII. It seems that PS3 exclusive games always have this kind of problem.

@Chaos Raiden: It’s Naughty Dog. They will release on schedule.

Not sure how Square-Enix’s mess ups and Japan Studio have to do with Naughty Dog.

      • @rockman29: So what it’s Naughty Dog? Any developers can have development hell. I don’t expect too much from any developers lately to release their games on time without delays or with the promised quality shown on trailers and stuff. Only handful of developers do, but I won’t expect too much from them to avoid getting my hopes crushed.

Is it just me or is that image at the top of the post incredibly ugly?

  • It’s ok. Since this holiday there would be RE6 and Halo 4 to keep me occupied :D
