Nothing for Versus again? Do we really have to wait 3 more months for TGS?

Just let me have this game so I can forget about you SE.

    • AuroraXIII

@Kurai Warrior: Are you always this depressing?

    • Miranda Lawson

@Kurai Warrior: My guess is that Vesus XIII isn’t even real. I mean why else would it take SE 6 years to make a Final Fantasy game?

  • FaithlessMr

That’s…kinda underwhelming, SE. Bravely Default teaser, at the very least? Dragon Quest Monsters?

    • anime10121

@FaithlessMr: Japan Expo is nowhere near as big as E3, Lipzeig, or TGS, expect big announcements there (though with many bowing out of Lipzeig this year, dont expect much on that front).

      • AuroraXIII

@anime10121: Not to mention that neither of those games are confirmed for overseas yet.

        • anime10121

@AuroraXIII: True, while they do tend to announce localizations during big media events, I doubt Japan Expo has enough impact for them to do so.

          • AuroraXIII

@anime10121: It’s still possible. But I meant that they wouldn’t reveal it in their event schedule. They would leave it as a surprise. :D

  • Zero

I’ll be interested to see Yoshida’s vision for the future of FFXIV.

And yeah, come on guys, this is a much smaller event. I’m kinda surprised they are even going at all.

  • Richard Uehara

I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t give a damn if FF Versus XIII comes out or not. They have been teasing that game since I was a junior in High School…
You keep dangling that delicious piece of pie in front of my face long enough I’ll just kick it out of the way and move on.

  • kiri25

I don’t understand why people complain about vs?? I have plenty of games I can play on my PS3 till it releases, same goes for Last Guardian. So take your time SE I’d rather have a great game than one rushed out the door just to make those with no patience happy.

    • AuroraXIII

@kiri25: I wish there were more patient and clear-headed fans like you.

    • KingOptimusOrigins111

It’s been 6 years going on 7 they had their time. Its not are fault they announce Versus XIII in 2006 and didn’t actually start working on it till early 2008 or 2009.

      • kiri25

@KingOptimusOrigins111: Sure SE made a mistake announcing vs to early but not even they knew it was going to take this long nor did they know they would run into problems just like Last Guardian had putting its date to tba. My point is simple SE should take their time and make sure vs is great b/c if not and they rush it out, guess what you’ll be a very unhappy person bashing SE for releasing to early or saying something like how could it have taken this long to make such an average game. Sorry to say but things take time and I rather SE take their time in this instead of releasing a release date that will change every six months like aliens coloniel marines.

        • KingOptimusOrigins111

All I’m saying is they need to at least up date us with screenshots at least every 3-4 months so the hype won’t go away.

          • Sal Romano

@KingOptimusOrigins111: I agree. Unless it’s undergoing some major overhaul, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be able to release one or two screenshots every few months. At least as a sign to the impatient fans (like me! :D) that says: “Hey, we’re still working on it. Give us some time, but for now, stare at these.”

            • KingOptimusOrigins111

              @Sal Romano:
For now all we can hope is a release date at TGS 2012 so people can get crazy with excitement.

  • TheDarkCloud

    Mmm not Versus, why!?!?!

Sure later comes some good news about this game. Meanwhile Sega don´t make more FFXIII sequels. Pretty bad was the first, I don´t understand why so many people buy that game (myself included).
And for those who say they have no trouble for wait to FFVersus, I tell them that i don´t believe anything what they said, that i am sure that they will be the first one to be there waiting for his copy. so if you know that this will happen, dont say anything about the people that are impatiently waiting for this game. hopefully SEGA will “reivindicar” for all the mistakes made in the previous game.

(Reivindicar – Is a word that i really dont know how to translate)

    • kiri25

@TheDarkCloud: For starters get your facts straights FF is Square Enix not SEGA. Second despite what u believe there are ppl like me that don’t mind waiting for the release and are ok with SE taking their time on the game but that does not mean I won’t get on day 1(b/c u I will) it just means I’m ok with waiting if it means getting an awesome.

      • TheDarkCloud

@kiri25: Jajaja Why i put SEGA there jajaj i really dont know. mi mistake.
So if you’re patient in waiting for the game you must be patient with people who want it.

  • lordshihan

Can we please have Kingdom Hearts I & II HD?

  • Hinano

Looking forward to the Agni’s Philosophy presentation!

  • Skelter

I find it hilarious how the instant people see “Square-Enix” their mind automatically flies to versus……it’s to the point where I can click the article EXPECTING a versus remark :D….don’t worry guys it’s coming….although I’m afraid that with all this anticipation…. when the release date is given, retail stores are gonna have to make preorders for the “Preorders” of Versus :D (okay that’ll never happen….but a guy has to exaggerate once in his life)

    • Zyzxx

@Skelter: Keep living in your fantasy world, bucko. I have an actual betting pool with my gaming buddies that Versus XIII is absolutely vaporware. All it was a tech demo and marketing gimmick to help gain sales towards the PS3. Just like the FFVII Tech Demo was.

There’s no way a game goes over 6 years in development, and not a single screenshot, trailer, or even just an ANNOUNCEMENT is made by the company making it.

Versus XIII is the next Duke Nukem Forever. Maybe Square Enix will finally make something of it…on the “PS4”.

      • Zero

Versus does have a few trailers and screenshots though. The last trailer they released was like 7 minutes long.

Nomura-san has talked about the game quite often, the information he has given us has been limited, but he has talked about the game.

You can find what I’m talking about on this website. http://gematsu.com/tag/final-fantasy-versus-xiii

        Just browse through the pages.

I’m sure they are saving other things for TGS. The Japan Expo is very small in comparison to events like e3 or TGS.

      • Miranda Lawson

@Zyzxx: I agree with you, I mean how can it even be a real game if it takes 6 years or more to make? Not to mention the fact that half of the people who were (and are currently) waiting for Versus XIII to come out were teenagers who have now become adults because it has taken so long to make. My guess is that it MIGHT be real, or it might not. If it is REAL then I think that it will come out on the PS4, if at all.

  • Zyzxx

What, no Versus XIII? No FFX HD? Gee, big surprise!

I am getting really fed up with Square Enix. Ever since the Squaresoft/Enix merger they have steadily become worse, focusing on nothing more than selling out and fanservice.

After FFXIII-2, I have given up on the Final Fantasy series. All I have been wanting was FFX HD, but they have given nothing since announcing it last year for the 10th anniversary of FFX.

Square Enix, get your goddamn priorities straight, get it together, and start going back to your roots with the games you’ve seem to forgotten that we all know and love. Unless you guys hate money that much and just want to go out of business already.

    Versus will be at tgs

    good so many stupid haters

  • kiri25

There is really no winning here sal or king. If say they do as u say and release screens every 4 months those who are impatient will start to complain and whine say things like “stop teasing us and release the game alrdy!”. Anyway no way around it ppl will complain either I just believe SE should take their time to make sure it delivers a game that is worth this long wait. Ashame SE has not released ff type 0 that could probably help some while waiting b/c zero was truly awesome!

FF VERSUS 13 please! & I REALLY REALLY HOPE they make Agni’s Philosophy into an actual game. Simply perfect..
