Nintendo has announced a new 3DS model during its Nintendo Direct broadcast tonight. The new SKU, named 3DS LL, boasts a 4.88 inch upper screen and 4.18 inch lower screen, both adding 90 percent extra view area, and longer battery life. To keep costs at minimum, it will not come bundled with an AC adapter. However, it will come bundled with a 4GB memory card.
3DS LL will be released in Japan in White, RedxBlack, and SilverxBlack on July 28 for 18,900 yen.
Update 12:03 a.m.: 3DS LL is coming to North America on August 19 for $199 as 3DS XL. It will be available in red and blue.
Update 12:45 a.m.: 3DS XL will come to Europe on July 28, with a silver option also available.
