Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss DLC due winter

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition due August 24.

Namco Bandai will release Dark Souls: Artorias of the AbyssDark Souls add-on pack, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 through PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE this winter for $14.99 / 1200 Microsoft Points. The PC version of Dark Souls, dubbed Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition, will be available for purchase in North America through both Steam and Games for Windows LIVE on August 24. A treat to PC owners, the Prepare to Die Edition includes the upcoming console download content out-of-box.

Detailed briefly earlier this week, Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss and Prepare to Die Edition includes “sprawling new maps and environments, new boss characters, enemies, non-player characters (NPCs), an arsenal of new weapons and armor and additional challenging content,” including an “untold chapter” where players are tasked with putting an end to the darkness spreading from the Oolacile forests. An online match-making feature, which creates one vs.one, two vs. two and four-player battle royale scenarios, is also added.
