The latest set of Etrian Odyssey IV screenshots show off the game’s “Burst Skills,” Adventurers Guild, skill tree, and workshop, as well as the Rune Master, Sniper, Night Seeker, and Dancer classes.
Burst Skills are learnt from books aquired during your journey. While they deplete the Burst Gauge, they can be used in instances such as fleeing the battle, performing a “Double Slash,” and powering up party members’ attacks. Other Burst Skills include “Full Metal Arrow” and “Mark of the Fireball.”
At the Adventurers Guild, players can create and customize up to 30 characters.
The Rune Master class is a magic specialist, and has skills centered around the elemental attributes, such as “Holy Symbol of Fire” (shifts the affinity of fire for both allies and enemies) and “Mark of the Big Thunder” (lightning strikes multiple enemies).
The Sniper class is a ranged specialist, and has skills such as “Lock On” (increases target hit rate) and “Leg Snipe” (hits the target at the legs).
The Night Seeker class is a stealth specialist, and has skills such as “Assassination” (has a chance to instantly kill the enemy) and “Hide Cloak” (avoid physical attacks for a few turns).
The Dancer is a support specialist, and has skills like “Regen Waltz” (recovers HP for a certain number of turns) and “Sword Dance” (a standard attack has the chance to strike more than once).
