The fate of Rainbow 6 Patriots lays in limbo today as a Game Informer source reports of the development team’s apparent ‘restructuring.’
The project’s creative director David Sears, narrative director Richard Rouse III, lead designer Philippe Therien, and animation director Brent George, all of whom were interviewed for Game Informer’s cover story on the title, have been removed from the project, according to the source.
Announced in November last year, the game marks a shift from the FPS series’ traditional route, putting the player in perspective of all Team Rainbow, the True Patriots terrorist organization, and the civilians brought in the middle. A Heavy Rain-style narrative will offer the player game-changing decisions, some that can result in the death of the civilians caught in the crossfire.
Rainbow 6 Patriots was last slated for a 2013 release across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
